Is Kentucky’s basketball team suffering because the football team was decent this season?

Are the athletic department gods punishing Kentucky’s basketball team because the football team did better than what they were destined to do this season?

Shouldn't you be worried? Alabama isn't even a NIT team by your terrible logic.

UK football was quietly forgotten in Lexington once basketball practice started in October.

It's sort of like the "does a tree falling in the forest make a sound if no one is around to hear it?"

No one in Lexington realized the football season wwent on past start of basketball practice.

The Kentucky team is suffering? They just got a top 10 win on the road and only have 5 losses

Kentucky’s football team was effing terrible this year. Fans recognized that after the Florida game and reacted accordingly. Even the Louisville game, the teams biggest rivalry, saw thousands of empty seats in “Kroger” stadium. People aren’t fools and know suck when they see it. I’d love for UK to have a team capable of going to Atlanta and would shell out serious dough for season tickets to go to the games, however, the commitment by the university isn’t there.

You're not wrong. Things went to shite after the Florida game. Administration is making some commitments to the program now that Stoops resuscitated the program, but they could do better. And Stoops had better get another bowl game next year unless he wants to be on the hot seat
Still the suck was less this year than it often is, more medicore-poor than awful

No, it wasn't forgotten. The "Kentucky fans don't care about football" thing is a myth, we support our football program better than most of the SEC supports their basketball programs and we probably support it better than any of the other blue blood basketball programs.

And this is an odd topic to post right after we beat the #7 team on the road.

UK just took a team full of freshman to Morgantown, and came back from 15 down to beat the 2nd best defensive team in America.

I was emotionally invested in that UF @ Kentucky game and I was absolutely loving the fire and passion in that Stadium that night. It was beautiful seeing those Kentucky fans loving them some football and I was pissed UK gave away that game to Florida.
