After
losing
leaders,
A&M
arguably
leaves
little
true
help
entering
this
important
merciful
ending for Sumlin's tenure.

A&M has a lack of defensive talent. Their best guy on defense is a nickel/safety in Donovan Wilson from Shreveport.

They have a few nice Mike linebackers but none of them are great athletes. Pass rush will be their biggest problem as none of their DEs are great athletes by any means. I expect them to be worse than last year by a ton.

1. our last 3 recruiting classes were top 15 and the bulk of them were on the defensive side.

2. our best player on defense is armani watts.

3. we only have one nice mike LB but hes probly pound for pound the strongest guy on the team.

4. pass rush is a concern but qualen cunningham (while undersized) is a tremendous athlete.

This doesn't mean anything. I just don't see much talent on defense

Debatable. Both Watts and Wilson are good.

I like a lot of the Mikes. They're all pretty similar. Solid tacklers but subpar athletes.

Qualen is the only guy that seems to give anything in terms of pass rush. With that being said, he plays very stiff.

Frankly next year depends on a QB stepping up more than Chavis.

Not debatable at all. The defense was flat out atrocious once Watts went down with an injury against Ole Miss last year.

This shows you don't know much about the Mike Linebackers at all. Tyrel Dodson had the best instincts on the team as a true freshman last year and Anthony Hines and Santino Marchiol (freshmen) are probably the best athletes out of all the linebackers.

Qualen Cunningham is by far the worst pass rusher out of the three defensive ends currently on campus. Jarrett Johnson provides exponentially more than he does.

Jarrett Johnson: 19 tackles, 6.5 TFL (4.5 sacks), 1 QBH, 1 FF, 1 Safety

Qualen Cunningham: 17 tackles, 1.0 TFL (1.0 sacks)

johnson is the best DE we have but i was mainly commenting on her posts about A&Ms lack of athleticism. QC is really twitchy and dodson is supposedly as big of a weightroom freak and daylon mack.

the first half of the year. everybody will think the aggies are playoff bound and that they finally have a legit defense. then, they will collapse suddenly as always.

That's what most of us are expecting as long as Kevin Sumlin is the head coach.

Well I mean just on defense.

Those guys you mentioned just look like guys to me. And if the defense goes to crap because Armani isn't there then just wow....

I know this sounds harsh but 7-6 could be likely if y'all can't stop anyone

No quarterback, receivers still can't do much except for Kirk, offensive line still can't snap the ball.

Losses to UCLA, South Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, LSU at a minimum with likely Ole Miss or Mississippi State as well.

I think of this season as chemotherapy. In order to get rid of the cancer that is Kevin Sumlin and his sycophants on texags we may need a horrific season regardless of the other effects.

It started at 59-0. From then, Sumlin basically proceeded to conduct actions that did nothing more than to yell "SQUIRREL" to distract the decision makers.

More bad decisions included placating the Murrays (and in some regard the Allens) and not taking Jarrett Stidham, not firing Jake Spavital after 2014, retaining B.J. Anderson WAY too long, and retaining Aaron Moorehead in any capacity.

The idiot decision makers with the big pockets think that 3 straight years of 8-5 is acceptable, as evidenced by how violently Scott Woodward (the AD) was rebuffed when he attempted to convince them otherwise.

If A&M starts off the year 5-0, that would mean a victory at UCLA, over South Carolina, and over Arkansas.

If A&M starts 6-0, that would mean a victory over Alabama

Neither scenario is happening.

Why hasn't recruiting gone well? Y'all got so many great QBs and WRs. Y'all got Garrett and Mack and on and on. Why does it just seem so meh? It can't be all on Sumlin.

Did we?

Name the last GREAT quarterback A&M recruited.

I'll give you a hint: Sumlin didn't recruit him.

Kenny Hill, Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray are not great quarterbacks. In fact, none of them were more than average.
