His and Sumlin's job probably depends on it

If by respectable, you mean a defense that won't give up over 200 yards rushing and 300 yards passing to LSU, then probably not.

UTk fans shitting on Chavis is like UF fans shitting on Mullen. Last time y'all were relevant, he was your DC.

What are you talking about? Les' offense carried Chavis for a long time.

Last time Chavis was relevant, he was LSU's defensive coordinator. I like him, and he was a great DC for us. I just don't see him getting back to that point.

Oh, and third and Chavis.

I think I'm the only one who doesn't think he's done a terrible job at A&M. I don't think he's had much to work with from a talent standpoint, and even though they were pretty porous for much of the year last year, their scoring defense did enough to help them win games last year. They were 40th in scoring D last year (24.5 pig), which is pretty amazing when you look at the yards they gave up. For comparison, Shoop's first defense as DC at Tennessee gave up 28.8 PPG.

I haven't really kept up with it much, but didn't he do some conniving shite to them just prior to leaving?

He had already checked out for the Notre Dame bowl game. Any effort at all to call defense for that game instead of being on his cell phone with Sumlin and his pool boy (lol) and we win that game. Didn't sit right with us so much.

I know you're trying to be funny but the year the offense was actually good in the last year of Beckham, Landry, Hill, Mett, etc the defense was shite.

A&M has a lack of defensive talent. Their best guy on defense is a nickel/safety in Donovan Wilson from Shreveport.

They have a few nice Mike linebackers but none of them are great athletes. Pass rush will be their biggest problem as none of their DEs are great athletes by any means. I expect them to be worse than last year by a ton.
