Le5 is in an extremely powerful position, TBH. The lines were drawn right after the Arkansas game between the he gone and he stays camps, and Alleva didn't help himself nor L5U by remaining silent.
Going forward it appears that Le5 will leave when Le5 is ready to leave, and not when L5U wants Le5 to leave. That will suck for L5U but it couldn't happen to a more deserving fanbase.

The thing that is most telling about coaching changes anymore, is that it's rare for an established coach to move. Whatever L5U thinks of themselves, Texas thinks of themselves, Florida, Bama, and even back to OU. All of them thought they could pick and choose, and not one of them happened that way. Bama got lucky by all accounts with Saban. Arkansas and the Arkansas AD got lucky because the Wisky AD is an idiot. Everyone else has had to go the OC route, or "up and comer" route.

Exactly. It's not just LSU. Or heck it's not just top tier programs, look at the Herman to USCe train that got derailed.
EVERYONE overestimates their program come hiring time.
