Spring games don't mean nothing, but they don't mean a whole lot either. Getting indications of capabilities of a new team with new players in a semi-live environment with fans loaded into a stadium is the closest model you get to a game in the off season.

And anyway, they're fun to watch. What else are we gonna talk about in April and you aren't allowed to say baseball

Well, what else football related to you have to fap about? it is what it is... spring football. No meaning at all, but it keeps the off season chatter going. That and SEC media days.
