I'd be willing to bet it's close, late in the 4th.

It's a nice pipe dream, but it ain't gonna happen. Petrino is a good coach and might stand a chance in a different conference, but not this one. He's the 3rd or 4th best in the West alone. The West is too tough, Arky doesn't recruit well enough, and Petrino isn't elite enough to overcome those 2 factors.

This is the dumbest statement of this whole thread. Please name 3-4 SECW coaches better than Petrino.

Saban is the best in the West; Miles #2; then Petrino, Mullen, and Chiz all have a case for #s 3-5.

No you corndogs have this self righteous attitude towards other teams when you need the most help in the history of the BCS to get there
We were going to a BCS bowl regardless... that's what happens when you win the SECCG. If your team had ever done that, you would know these things.

roaad posted as if there is a pattern that will be repeated.

PAST PERFORMANCE IS NOT AN INDICATOR OF THE FUTURE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR PORTFOLIO.

Do you also buy those computer programs to tell you when to buy, based on some patterns that happened in 1987?

Expecting a jump from 7th to 4th is a pretty huge jump and not based in any sort of reality. Is everyone else just going to stop playing defense? Arkansas will be 6th at best next year.

i said 4th or 5th.

and it wouldn't be that big of a jump - last year Arkansas was 0.3 ppg from 6th, 1.3 ppg from 5th.

If we held Auburn to 45 points last year, we would've been 5th instead of 7th. If we perform just as well next year without an Auburn-type collapse, we'll be around where i want/expect. i'd call that realistic

Miles @ 2 really? Half his own fans think he's a dumbass who just gets lucky half the time.

Game would have been a lot different if the refs wouldn't have taken the ball from us to give Auburn a TD... TWICE.

I never said he was a perfect coach, there are many things about him I don't care for. And there is a large gap between #1 and #2. But yes, he is still #2 in the West until one of the others proves themselves without having Cam Newton.

i have no problem with miles at 2. he gets a bad rap for doing questionable things, but he's won a hell of a lot of games at LSU.

Not what I said. I think Chiz, Petrino, and Mullen all have an argument for #3.

I made the Cam Newton comment b/c Chiz has in fact, won a title. I'm going to need to see some more results w/o Cam Newton before I can give him any more accolades though. Petrino and Mullen haven't won shite, which is why I didn't need to qualify my statement about them.

Yes, I do that. . .

And the OP was not a tongue in cheek comment more directed more towards displaying the SEC's dominance.

No. . .I was completely serious. . .super cereal.

#1 that's not even true

#2 half the LSU fan base hated Saban when he was here except in 2003, too.
