Sumlin's days in SEC Football are definitely numbered. Johnny Football made him who we thought he was.

We should revisit this after this season

Remember Sumlin has had greater success than Miles over the last 4 seasons

That's fair...as long as it is revisted though. Not just pushed down the road cause LSU was beat. Certainly in the "get off the pot" range for Sumlin now that he is past his "inherited" phase. He got out of UH before that period was over, and he needs to show it. His early success with Manziel right now is biting him in the butt as success may have peaked, and harder to satisfy expectations from then. Maybe if he would have brought Manziel out in his 2nd year instead, and had a so-so expected 1st year. Who knows.

Disclaimer: From day 1 I didn't buy the hype that he be the coach people were saying he would be.

What does that even mean?

If we suck this season the Rant will beat us over the head with that fact I promise.

And if we do well the Rant will be sure to tell us it wasn't good enough.

Don't worry.

How many wins does Les need?

honestly though, LSU has like 5 top 5 classes in a row, or something. Miles' contract actually ends this year, so LSU could find a nice replacement. What does Sumlin's contract look like?

Why would Sumlin even want to bet LSU?

BS, he solidified his position after last year. Kinda like how Erdogan solidified his position after the failed coup in Turkey. Les could survive an eight win season easily.

Les won 9 games last year with missing a game to Mcneese state.

it's an idiotic notion to think Les' contract would be renewed with 8 wins, with this team.

And yall were telling us last December that him getting fired was a sure thing.

I can EASILY see a situation where if LSU gets 8 wins then Les gets a contract extension with no additional buyout for recruiting purposes. You are being disingenuous if you say that isn't a possibility. The political capital to fire him was spent last offseason in a failed attempt.

Let's up that to 10 games. If the offense doesn't change & we lose to Bama & Arky & its run, run punt. The team is stacked.

Suppose LSU goes 8-4. Is Les out?
Absolutely!

With so many Starters returning, the talent level of the team and the great Staff, even 9-3 will get him canned.

Most LSU fans, (Which includes upper level Power Brokers and TAF's) have had enough of the mediocrity and are out of patience.

It's going to take an SEC West Title and Bama win or all bets are off on Miles................

Les needs at least 9 wins and a team that plays with a well thought out game plan on both sides of the ball. That game plan would need to include well schemed running plays and passing plays that take advantage of the opposing teams weaknesses and every down formations; which has not been the case for the last 3-4 years. Getting beat by a better team or one that simply out plays you on the field is one thing. Getting beat because your coach is a stuburn simpletin with a 6 play play book making 4.5 million a year is another.
