Is it a possibility for OM to pay off Nutt?

It seems like a huge catch22 for OM.

The obvious choice would be to settle out of court preferably before depositions are taken and become public record, but to do so makes OM guilty as accused in the public's opinion.

Freeze may even lose his preachers innocence to the fanbase as Nutt had before him by doing so.

On the other hand the last thing OM would want is for this to continue forward in the courts before the NCAA has officially handed out their sanctions, which would likely be delayed as new information comes out. Civil cases have and will continue to result in sanctions for athletic programs as Nutt himself knows from the Herrod divorce proceedings landed his program on probation with scholarship reductions.

So with that in mind, we have to begin to research the last time a sec team fielded a team with all non-scholarship players... or is OM going to be the first?

Nutt was already paid off by Arky AND Ole Miss. But he feels slighted and wants to go back to the well for more. Can't say I blame him, the narrative OM folks threw out to the media to chum the waters was a false narrative and nothing more than an attempt to divert negative attention away from Freek till they could get that '16 class inked.

Yeah, I think he drags this thing out till they make him an offer he can't refuse. He's bored as hell, what the hell else has he got to occupy his time these days?

It's a near certainty. Bad news for Hootie is that he will still be the butt of jokes and unhireable.

He ain't in it for the money. His attorney is filthy rich too... Nutt wants to take them down he's out for blood... and the attorney wants to be in the history books and maybe write his own biography as the attorney that took down the biggest pay for play scheme in the history of college football. OM is burning.

Hmmmm, back in May, when he first threatened the lawsuit, allbl Hootie wanted was an apology and an acknowledgement that he was not responsible for the brunt of the allegations. Pretty sure the settlement will come with the apology. This HUGE announcement is embarrassing, but to be honest it's probably not the kill shot

I'm sure he dries his tears with all that money he got out of Ole Miss and Arkansas. He will be just fine.

Bet he does. Two words. Billable hours. Longer this drags out the more of his ultimate winnings his attorney will get. He will get a 7 figure settlement.

Nutt got paid $6 million to leave and never come back after the 2 victories.

He has run out of money and is back at the pig trough.

The Mississippi taxpayers will pay him, say, 3-4 million to go away. And the Arkansas shyster and the Jewish law firm in New Orleans will make another million.

Irrelevant to the suit at hand. His suit is far more likely to result in a victory for the plaintiff than the ridiculous RR suit.

His reputation was harmed, without doubt, by the propaganda from Freeze and OM that reporters spread at mass scale.

The original payout was not from tax payer dollars. If OM agrees to pay him this time, then it will be an admission of guilt on their part, especially if payment was from taxpayer dollars.

It will be setteled. OM cannot afford for this to go to discovery and depositions.

Nutt may be a poor coach and a Grade A skeez. But did Freeze/Bjork petition journalists & media members to paint a false narrative publicly about the actual contents and severity of the NOA in an effort to save the '16 class?

Freeze openly sought out media to disparage him false. Because simply put, not all the violations were under him. Not even most of the. In fact, only a few. The phone records are damning evidence. That's breach of contract. There was a no disparagement clause agreed upon by both parties. Even if Freeze was telling the truth, they violated the clause and thus the contract. Really stupid. They will settle. It's open and shut

First, that Nutt's attorney has this case on a contingency is a near certainty. And because of all the publicity attendant to the case, he will be in no hurry to settle.
Second, Nutt, et al. know that the depositions will be hugely embarrassing to OM and will be publicized everywhere. They are not going to let OM out of this cheaply if there is a settlement. An apology and seven figures is a likely scenario.
Third, This was all avoidable and OM has played it with the same lack of aplomb that has characterized its response to the NCAA investigation. What are they thinking?
