It was pretty well established on here that Fla fans were glad to see him go because he didn’t live up to Donovan , and us Dawg fans loved the hire because he’s a huge step up from the losers we’ve had

Golden is okay shows some promise but also has a lot of work to do, particularly he needs to step up the S&C and adapt a full court press defense but he’s showed some promise so far

Good guy but things got stale and UF needed to move on. Trolling aside going to a place like UGA is a good spot for him given the low expectations.

By any metric, Florida is doing better with Golden than UG is doing with White. So, yes.

It was a toxic situation - really was good for both sides to separate.
And the culture was broken - basically threw the roster away completely, including guys he recruited for transfers that did not live up to expectations.

Florida has gone from .617 to .571 winning % while Georgia has gone from .385 to .500
You're winning less than you were and they're winning more than they were, so there's that.

Big boost coming from years with Donovan players. He clearly has a ceiling and it's not great.
Not sold on Golden but this year shows a ton of promise an a focus on bigs that Mike White never had here and we'd routinely get pushed around the court.
I don't know if Golden is the guy but Mike White wasn't.

This.
After 7 years with Mike White, it was time. It was really time after 4-5 years, but we hold on to coaches longer than normal if they are nice guys and say the right things.
