This was my attempt to help improve thread quality. And this is the perfect example of how "rant-think" will never allow you to have a decent football discussion. If you think Florida is not a roster loaded with talent that just needs to be developed, you really know nothing about their football program

Every response was respectful until yours. They just didn't share your opinion, so you started insulting people. THIS is what prevents us from having good discussions.

BTW, I think it's likelier that Florida is not good then it is that they will now be battle-tested and better. I also think the underlying motive in the OP is to try to build up Florida so that Bama's results this weekend will be better perceived.

Seems like the takeaway for most people is "man UF might still be pretty bad again" when the message I got was "damn UK might be better than everyone thought".

This...Stoops is doing good things with that program right now. He was also the most familiar SEC coach with how Florida would look this year due to his time at FSU. He saw a Muschamp coached Florida team and a Roper coached Duke offense for 2 years...he had more knowledge on how to beat us than any other SEC coach IMO.

Now we just post gifs, make half witted comments, tell the OP how lame they are and Bert is fat.

In all fairness, Bert IS fat.

Hmm... I remember "Alabama went 6-6 last year..." comments a few years back.

I also remember an LSU team going into triple overtime with UK a few years back as well.

Is my memory correct?

Just looked. LSU lost. I swear I remember them winning the game.

I wish we were the ones coming off a tight win.

Nope. Florida showed little to no improvement from last year while Kentucky looked way better than past two years.

Summary ... Gators DO NOT want a rematch; and Bama DOES NOT want to be coming off a 'tight win' over Southern Miss.

I agree that Kentucky is likely improved and should win a couple games in the SEC this season.

The concern is that after one top 20 recruiting class, Kentucky still shouldn't even be close to being able to beat UF IN THE SWAMP. Maybe there were a few mistakes by UF that caused this game to be close, maybe it should have been a blow out. But it wasn't and that falls back again on Muschamp.

To me, he is lacking something (not sure what exactly) that a head coach of a major program needs and it is just a matter of time before he loses enough games where the fans won't defend him, a la TN fans with Dooley.

Maybe I will be shocked and they'll come out and take Bama to the brink or even pull it off, but I am very much expecting a 4 quarter beat down by the tide on Saturday.

This shows ignorance. That's why UF isn't being respected by the media or uninformed fans.

Well, you're gonna have to go out and earn back the respect.

Earn it on the field. While there is no question that Kentucky is improved that game has left lingering questions about Florida. Calling people "ignorant" because they can see this and wonder what correlation that has to last season is pretty "ignorant" as well.

Yea, there was nothing wrong with up til he posted that.

I like crimson legend but I think he picked the wrong time there to try and make a point.

Maybe so. But I wasn't talking about being disrespectful, I was talking about being immediately dismissive of the idea that something might be different than conventional assumptions.

Anyway, I do appreciate having a decent conversation. The reason I'm focused on Florida, to address the comment earlier, is that Florida is our next opponent and the UK game has an immediate influence on what happens this weekend.
