Maybe not. I've always heard that for an SEC coach to get fired over a scandal, they have to get caught with either a live boy or a dead girl.

This. Saying it was for himself is the best case scenario for Ole Miss.

So Hugh Freeze is going to admit to calling hookers, ruin his image and his marriage in exchange for............being fired as well voiding his contract and his buyout?

What exactly is he getting out of this?

The rumors have been there for a long time, but obviously they couldn't be substantiated. Ole Miss questioned Freeze about inappropriate behavior over the last year, but he denied it and there was no evidence.

Small town shite doesn't "pop" unless it's exposed. Which Nutt's lawyers did. Still at the time Ole Miss didn't know that his transgressions when way back to early in his career.

So, not one mention of this on the internet until yesterday? I'm not even talking official rumors, I'm talking about a single mention on a board.

The thing that really makes me think there is more to this is the "news" out of Oxford that he was actively cheating on his wife.

Did we know that already?

Because the presser certainly made it sound like this wasn't news to a lot of people

I mean Kiffin wrecked a UT car full of co-eds and drunk off his arse and we covered that shite up for him. Being a creep is normal in this profession.

If it was for recruits, they would've had to say last night, wouldn't they?

I know Ole Miss has reached new hieghts on how to NOT conduct an investigation, but I'm sure the NCAA will look into these calls. If was for recruits, Vitter would have to admit it now. Right?

We didn't. The Ole Miss fans are alleging that Hugh's infidelity was commonly known. Their track record is also an abortion.

No. They don't have to say anything yet and with their record of lying this entire time no one should trust the admin anymore than Freeze. Hell, they kept people from being able to see what should've been public info. in the NOAs and then proceeded to lie about what was in them.

Someone in another thread said that when the call was made in Tampa he was there recruiting Shea Patterson and Jacob Mathis.

nah look they knew that they were paying players you'd think they'd really care if in addition to paying players they were providing them with hookers. besides the average age of consent for boys in most states is 16 and just calling an escort services is not proof of solicitation.

hooten dale nutt finds one embarrassing phone call it lasted 1 minute. that's most likely a wrong number. nutt sends that number to pat forde at yahoo sports and usa today.

freeze passes it off for what it would most likely be a wrong number.

that prompts ole miss to look at 39,000 phone calls.

that's a fishing expedition they were looking to fire him to get out of his buy out with out using the NCAA violations as the reason.

if they had used that as the reason to fire him all three were going down.

it's a classic case of

Pretty much - he was a rumored having these kind of hookups for years.

This goes way back to 2013/2014

I read this board enough but have never seen this mentioned on here. What's the history of it?

Not to be a stickler but SP was living in Bradenton, not Tampa. That is like saying he was in New Orleans recruiting a kid from Slidell.

The reason this matters is that, if he was recruiting in Bradenton, he may have gone to Tampa at the end of a long, hard, day to bust a Nutt.

It is a 30-40 minute drive, depending on traffic.

I had this thought too.

I would wager that he probably didn't store the numbers know his burner for obvious reasons. So he probably direct dialed each time. My guess is that he was just in the habit of calling, and absentmindedly forgot which phone he was holding.

A slim chance of being able to coach again a la Bobby Petrino. It's a moral issue, but one most ADs would overlook in time.

Arranging for hookers to visit recruits could result in a lifetime show cause from the NCAA.
