How bad are the saints if a bust was their offensive MVP last and probably this year?

Yet you only have 3 RB in NFL an only 1 is doing decent this year (Mark Ingram)

Yeldon was nothing but a typical SEC RB. Nothing special.

Richardson is arguably the biggest bust in NFL history.

Ingram, Lacy, and Henry are all pretty good runningbacks. But lets be real, Ingram ranks as one of the 2 or 3 worst Heisman winners of the modern age.

By throwing Alexander in there, I guess you are going back in history to find great Alabama backs. If you are going to do that, other teams in the SEC still trump Bama by a long mile.

Yeldon was a great college back and is doing well as a rookie on a bad team. Lacy was offensive rookie of the year and ran over 1,100 yards each of the last two seasons. Ingram is finally looking good now that the stupid Saints are giving him more than 4 carries a game. Trent was an NFL bust but was utterly dominant in college and Henry is about to win another Heisman. Alexander played this century, so that's modern. Not like he went back to Johnny Musso in the 70s. Coffee was also a 2nd round pick before he left the NFL to join the military, people forget about him.

Top 20 all-time rushing yards/game in a single season in SEC history:

Georgia has 5
Auburn has 4
Alabama has 4 (counting Henry this year)
LSU has 2 (counting Fournette this year)
Florida has 2
Tennessee has 1
Kentucky has 1
Arkansas has 1

While Bama has a very impressive group, Henry's 2015 seasons is the only one that ranks in the Top 13. Trent Richardson's 2011 seasons ranks #14. Bobby Humphrey's 1986 season ranks #17. And Mark Ingram's 2009 season ranks #20.

If you look at the Top 20 in CAREER Rushing Yards, it breaks down like this:

Auburn has 5
Alabama has 4
LSU has 3
Florida has 2
Arkansas has 2
Kentucky has 2
Georgia has 1
Mississippi State has 1

Again though, all 4 of Bama's backs on that list rank between #12 and #19... so they are towards the bottom (Alexander is #12, Humphrey is #15, Darby is #18, and Yeldon is #19).

Herschel is far and away #1

LSU has 3 of the Top 7 (Faulk is #3, Hilliard is #6, and Charles Alexander is #7). Fournette ranks #48 through just 2 seasons. If he runs for just 1500 yards next season, he'll catapult himself into the Top 5 all-time... giving LSU 4 of the Top 8 all-time. That's strong.

I'd say the Runningback U title still belongs to LSU, Georgia, and Auburn. Alabama has made a good run in the last decade to get into the discussion, but in no way deserves that distinction.
