Steroids.

Its the only way that a college team is bigger in the trenches than most NFL teams.

Or recruiting big players and putting them into the capable hands of the best coach in America and the best S&C coach helps.

he question I have is this: Is Alabama's dominance good for college football?

These things never last too long. Alabama is ripe for a fall, if you ask me. I just hope we do it and not you guys, because if you guys do it, they will be mad against us.

The only good thing about having 1 team such a standout powerhouse is that on that rare occasion you can upset them, it's a good lasting memory, like our wins over Bama in '80 and '96. (If we can beat a dominant Bama team once every 16 years, it's a good thing it's 2012)

That's exactly what makes a big upset a big upset.

I am 44 and have watch alot of college football and it never fails. As soon as you starting that a teams too good, can't be beaten or is unbeatable. Not to long after that is when someone beats their arse. If State doesn't beat Bama this week, it will be LSU in 2 weeks.

Saban at Bama is dangerous and has caused me to lose some interest in college football as a member of the SEC. I have no hope of winning the SEC, so it loses its luster.

"There is also this corollary: Do Alabama fans get bored of winning every game in dominating fashion? I can't imagine that a fan would derive any excitement out of watching their team dominate everyone week after week. If you're an Alabama fan, don't you at least want to see a close and exciting game?

I look forward to your thoughtful responses."

Silly, that's why we have a spring A-day game!

You underestimate Kentucky Basketball with Calipari.

And no, Bama is not too good. Their dominance will push other teams to get better IMO. Nationally, it's going to push teams to actually play some defense when it's all said and done. Nothing wrong with that.
