Idk about intelligent, but I like his style when he isn't going overboard.

And one vote for every passed out LSU fan. Wait, that would be unfair.

Really? Helps all non SEC teams

On the rare chance the SEC gets two teams, the committee will guarantee they met before the finals

BCS wouldn't necessarily do that but the humans will

And you'll rarely if ever see two teams from the same conference in this thing

You can bet your arse if 2 sec teams are in the playoff they will be playing each other in the semifinal round

I hope they invite Pete Fiutak and Matt Zemek from cfn.

They should have made it win your conference. Then the computers seed the top however many conference champions in a playoff.

This is just a dumb idea.

Season Long Tournament to win your conference. Then a small single elimination tournament with the top conference winners. shite ain't hard. That would eliminate about 99% of the legit eye test bias.

I also think it would create more story lines with the conference sending off their champions for battle in a tournament of champions.

No SEC school will be in the top 4 for the first three years.

As punishment for 7 straight.

Maybe 8 straight.

Under the new system I don't mind this at all

Depends how much they are influenced by the media (ala the Mothership) Most good teams are in the flyover areas so I tend to think this would help East and West coast teams like Oregon, USC, Notre Dame(huge NY alum base) Michigan and OSU (same reason as ND).

Do you have a manifesto as well????? Data is data. Just because you don't like the outcome does not mean it is flawed.

People fret way too much.

Most of the 4 spots will be an open and shut case.

Some years there will be 2-3 teams thinking they deserve the last spot and those that don't get it will bitch.

They would bitch under any system though.

I think the first big stink is when the committee selects a team ranked 6 or below in both AP and Coaches is selected.

A) hope it's more former athletically associated personnel than media (yes, there is some overlap)

B) no media from a major news outlet or one that broadcasts games (e.g. ESPN). think that should be a disqualifier on automatic-bias grounds.

C) that dude that always voted Boise #1 from (I think) LA Times shouldn't even be allowed in media rooms

D) if Bo Jackson, Booger McFarland, and Archie Manning aren't on it, it's not right (or at least invited)

E) the "computers", e.g. Sagarin, will still be there for reference similar to the RPI in basketball.

Can't believe people want more than 4. Some people won't be happy until the entire regular season is completely meaningless.

Yeah, make it 16 and the regular season means almost nothing, lose 2-3 games, who cares.

College basketball has the most worthless regular season in all of sports because of their ridiculous playoff format. It's fun, makes for good office pools, but is a really shitty way to pick a champion.

4 is the perfect number, it's very difficult to make (which keeps the regular season important) but large enough that an obviously deserving team won't get left out.
