First of all, half of Florida's secondary missed that game with injury, they had 5 starters missing in total, and another starter, cody riggs, got ejected after the first play. UF was not the same team the last 6 games of the season...
They were really strong early, but the last 6 games gave up:
500 yards - 36 pts
414 yards - 23 pts
183 yards - 34 pts
377 yards - 19 pts
429 yards - 26 pts
456 yards - 37 pts
The injuries and bad offense really caught up to that team later in the year.
Also, the UF pass defense stats are skewed by the fact that Georgia Southern had 0 passing yards. Just FYI
Short version: Florida does not have SEC depth; Got owned by freshman QB.

Even given what I said, it was still 23-17 in the 4th quarter. Mizzou really opened up a can in the 4th quarter when UF started to tire out. And yeah, given the injuries, I would say UF did not have quality SEC depth last season. Especially at LB and on the DL. In the secondary, they were OK. I would say the biggest issue for UF in that game (other than the shittiest offense in history) was the lack of a pass rush. How they kept it close is beyond me.

Isn't that what losing those 3 WRs boils down to? Somebody has to step up. Who will it be? Is it expected to be Sasser and Hunt? Are they not expected to be two of the starters? I don't think Mizzou will be a bad team. I've got them around 8-4/9-3 for 2014. But I do not expect your passing offense to be your strong suit. Mauk got some good experience, but it's still his first year as the focal point of the offense. I also don't think any DCs are making a game plan based on your WRs this year.

It doesn't really matter how good/not good Mauk is next year because we'll still beat the shite out of them in Williams-Brice and Thompson leading South Carolina will have the better overall season. Mizzou is primed for a 4th place finish in the East.

People like you need extreme statements to shake you out of your "omg we won tEast" mentality.
Mauk is relatively unproven and padded his statistics against the weak teams of the SEC. I'm getting tired of hearing the talk of Mauk being able to guide a depleted Mizzou offense to another SEC east title.
If I was going around this board saying that Mason was going to lead us to Atlanta on his arm I would be laughed all the way to the DawgRant.
In my mind Mason and Mauk are on the same level in terms of being proven. I'm not saying Mauk will be shite but I clearly provided a link on the last page that shows the unrealistic expectations some of y'all have for him.
Mauk is relatively unproven and padded his statistics against the weak teams of the SEC. I'm getting tired of hearing the talk of Mauk being able to guide a depleted Mizzou offense to another SEC east title.
