My parents gave my oldest sister the 1984 Gator Bowl shirt between SC and Ok. State. The game was before my time but it was our only 10-win season in history until 2011. I can vaguely remember the shirt, haven't seen it in years though.

Isn't that when y'all were #2 late in the season and somehow lost to Navy?

Yes it is. They did some anniversary about the season not long ago and did in-depth coverage week by week. Apparently, we had a national championship invite in the bag if we beat Navy, regardless of the game against Clemson the following week. We choked against Navy, lost the invite, Clemson played Anchors Aweigh, we beat them at least. Got the Gator Bowl, lost to Ok. State.

It was apparently quite the season. We beat UGA, FSU, ND, and Pitt.

Also of note.. we beat Navy in '82, '83, '85, and '88, but we just had to lose '84.

If I had to guess I'd say it was probably last year.

Um, where is Gone with the Wind Bro? The most popular movie of the first half of the 20th century by far?

Exactly. The list is shite.

I already hit on that. I believe at one point (maybe 20ish years ago?) GWTW was also the 2nd best selling/most popular/most read/some other metric like that book in history behind the Bible. I'm sure that's not the case anymore.

It wasn't though. It was like 25th year anniversary or something.

Gone with the Wind the movie has been re-released in theaters in the US eight times and has made $400 million total, which when adjusted for inflation is anywhere between $3 and $5 billion, making it the highest grossing film of all time. It is also believed to be the most watched film of all time, meaning more people bought tickets, regardless of their price, to this film than any other.

It was a critical success too, as it was the first film to receive more than five Academy Awards. This record stood for 20 years until Ben-Hur won 11 in 1959.

I can't believe someone from the South would leave it off the list.

I've always had a soft spot for GWTW because my great great aunt wrote it. Unfortunately I do not receive any royalties

This is a touchy subject for the Aggies, because all active fans in 1939 are mainly dead; and the jewels that post here all will die and will never see their team win one in their lifetime. Likely neither will their kids.

Some things are just not meant to be.
