No doubt he's made Bama the standard of college football. But I can't see a scenario where they land a "Saban" like coach next go round. Hell, as of today I can't think of anyone close to comparable sands Urban. Jimbo? Dabo? fricking please.....
As the late Al McGuire legendarily stated, "the person who follows a dictator always gets assassinated".

I don't think a proven coach at a big-time program will touch Bama. You could be the greatest coach of your generation and disappoint the Bama faithful who will forever compare your results to one of the top 2-3 coaches who've ever coached college football.

Could they strike gold with a Utah/ Urban/ UF deal, sure. And they'll have their pick of those guys. But plucking a can't miss coach like Saban, post Saban, will be dam near impossible imo.

Only coaches that are comparable is Belichick and Carroll.

Nah shite we wont get another saban. He's the greatest college football coach of all time. We will get another top college football coach! But he won't be Nick Saban, but no one is!

That's the point. Bama kind of backed in to Saban to begin with. I would say you "may" get another great coach. But odds of Bama landing a coach with a MNC are pretty low- sands Jimbo. And comparing him to Saban is laughable imo.

That's the thing, you need a Zook to your Spurrier, a Muschamp to your Meyer, a Miles to your Saban.

Bama's gonna hire a 29 year old coach? Sweet deal. He'll die of sexual exhaustion if he's single...then what?

It'll probably be Dabo (he won't be able to resist mama's call). Will he win like Saban has, of course not. But he'll have us in contention for the playoffs most years.

If you really believe that, you want to buy my ocean front house here in Arizona?

Dabo without his OC and DC is a functional retard....and at least one of those will stay with Clemson.

Jimbo and Dabo are fools gold. In the SEC they get exposed. Again, my opinion.

Saban is 64 years old, will probably win another MNC, and is about to lose a good bit of his staff. How much longer do yo think he's gonna coach?

You do realize that Chad Morris is no longer at Clemson, right?

And it didn't take him long to dump Steele and go after a better DC when it became apparent that Steele wasn't going to work out. So I think his track record has shown that he not only knows the importance of having quality coordinators, but can actually get them.

Worry about it when it's time to worry about it. Could be this year, next year, or if you fans of lesser programs are dead unlucky, 10 years from now.

He also coaches in the weakest power conference on the planet. He almost lost to the worst USCe team of the decade. I hope Bama gets a shot at Clemson if for no other reason than to show how much paper is in that tiger.

But if Bama wants and lands Dabo, as a UGA fan I'm ecstatic.

Worried? Not so much. Found it interesting. I'm losing sleep because I wanted one more New Belgium Accumulation. Worth it imo.

Look, who knows who Bama will get 5 years from now. But one thing is for sure, it won't be a freaking coordinator.

We will probably get McElwain or Kirby, depending on who is more successful at their current school.

Saban could retire after this season or he could have 5 years left in the tank. Nobody knows but Saban and any speculation from rivals is wishful thinking at this point. The man will be done when he wants and not a minute sooner.

As far as future guys, I like a lot of options out there. What's Jim Tressel up to these days? I like Dantonio and Gary Patterson. Jimbo and Dabo would both come for the right offer. Maybe Shaw or we get lucky again with a guy like Chip Kelley leaving the NFL right when we are looking. Possibilities are almost endless, but there will never be another Saban. Bama isn't going to disappear though just because Saban leaves. The next guy will have a loaded roster and elite facilities as a starting point, he'd have to work really hard not to be very good for at least a few years.

I love it. If Kirby is good enough for Bama he ain't leaving Athens. I'd say the same for McElwain at UF and he didn't play for UF. As I stated, Bama will find it difficult to pull a coach of the quality it wants to follow in Saban's footsteps. I've got no beef with Bama. But when saban leaves and their back to hiring striper bangers I will enjoy the melt.

Yup. He can recruit, and he's got a good eye for coordinators.

But he really isn't a game day coach. His teams are mentally weak and prone to mistakes- at least, they have been against USC.

I think he'd get crushed under the weight of the Bama expectations, and the grind of the West.
