I'm a diehard 49ers fan always have been. The panthers are North Carolinas team. In fact they only just started referring to them as the CAROLINA panthers. It was the North Carolina Panthers in the beginning

In the days before the Carolina Panthers, the Washington Redskins was North Carolina's NFL team.
There are still some Redskins fans in that area. If the Redskins start kicking arse again sometime, you might see more Wash. fans in that area than you might see Panther fans.

There are still some Redskins fans in SC as well because the Carolinas were in DC's market before teams like Dallas and ATL came along. DC was the southern most team in the NFL until Dallas joined in 1960.
My dad is old enough to remember only getting Redskins games as a kid and when Dallas started getting broadcast in Cola he started pulling for them. Which is why I'm a Dallas fan.
I'm pretty sure scrooster said he's a Redskins fan in the NFL thread on the USC board.

Columbia, SC, and I never liked them. They are not "Carolina" but rather Charlotte and/or NC.
I don't understand this line of thinking
the team is located within 10 miles of the border and used to play its home games in South Carolina before the stadium was built
hell they have training camp at Wofford
how is pulling for Pittsburgh/Dallas/Washington anymore of your team if you're from here team, cause that's usually what I see around here

I'm from the Winston-Salem area, and the triad has always been predominantly redskins fans
even now

The only people in Atlanta rooting for the Panthers are Auburn fans and a smattering of people in College Park.
Cam got heartily booed at Philips Arena during the playoffs last year when he was put on the jumbotron.

Been a lifelong Falcons fan (mostly a long suffering one) since the NFL expansion added Atlanta in the 60's...don't hate Carolina but will be pulling for Denver since I don't want the Falcons to be the only team in the division to not win a Super Bowl...

Would have pulled for the Camthers if New England had won. But I'll be a Broncos fan SB Sunday.

I would have not really cared. But, with the Auburn fans on this board especially lately, I hope Denver kills the Panthers.

I wouldn't mind seeing Peyton walk away with another SB, like when Ray Lewis got another and retired.
