Now after LF was shut down, that the purple and gold spin is being applied and postitive comparisons are being made to Mark in an attempt to salvage Buga's Heisman hopes? Truly pathetic
We wouldn't do that. You are misrepresenting things.

How many games did Ingram and BAMA lose that year?

But his team won the game and he rushed for over 100 yards and 3 TDs in the SEC Championship Game the next week. He also had close to 100 receiving yards in the title game.

But LSU might very well not have the SECCG like Ingram and ama had.

Serious question, do you people who keep bringing this up understand how the heisman voting works? I really don't think you do.

Fournette still has much better stats with one less game. Henry isn't in the driver's seat IMO. He definitely moved way up, but It's still LF's to lose IMO.

Fournette wasn't even the best player on the field last night, much less the entire nation.

Bama fans are the pathetic ones trying to act like over 100 yds in a game is heisman worthy. If Ingram had played for LSU, no doubt Bama fans would be laughing at him. Funny how that works.

That's just ignorant. A running back needs people to block for him. No running back would have got yards behind our line last night. Fournette is still an amazing running back, and still has better stats than anyone. That's how far out in front of everyone else he was.

That's 100% false if Fournette has been doing what he's been doing. If Henry faced a decent defensive line like Florida, his acceleration and stride are too damn slow to get past the line. All he has is size and power. LF has size, power, agility and quickness. Clearly the Trophy is still his to lose

quote:So now LSU's defensive line is trash? You guys surely will cut off your nose to spite your face He played against the best defense and was stuffed, certainly you see that he isn't as great as once thought

Henry was a beast last night - I was truly impressed. I won't have a problem if he wins the Heisman at all. I can easily give credit where credit is due.

Last night changes nothing about how Fournette is. It changes how we view our offensive line though.

What made Ingram's season so special, were those big moments in the games that mattered most. That's what championship players do. Ingram stepped up in most of Bama biggest games and helped Bama go undefeated in 2009.
Fournette still has a chance to rebound and I believe Ingram had one down game that 2009 season.

Ingram struggled against Auburn in '09. The Tigers sold out to stop the run and they came close to pulling off a shocking upset. McElroy of all people came up big and saved the day.

First of all, unlike all the L5U fans, there are likely many Heisman voters around the country who have seen Fournette play one game...last night. The image of Henry running wild while Fournette was shut down...embarrassingly so...is an image that will last in their minds. Combine that with the fact that the SECCG would give Henry one last opportunity to have a big game on a big stage and make the last impression in their minds.

2009 just didn't have any great offensive players.

Ingram was able to rebound because he had a big game in the SEC Championship while other contenders (McCoy vs Nebraska and Tebow to a lesser extent vs Alabama) struggled. Also Gerhart didn't play the final week.
Fournette will have a hard time winning if hes sitting at home and Henry is playing UF for the SEC Title among other contenders playing on the final week.

Florida has a very good rush defense. I don't see him running wild on them, and he would basically have to IMO.
Heisman is a bullshite award that is based on a lot of well-timed hype and luck. Fournette was a #1 recruit, turned it on late last year against TAMU and ND, and exploded onto the scene during the AU game, so much so that Danielson half-jokingly asked if he could pencil in his Heisman ballot then. As sad as it is, Chubb's injury basically ensured that the singular focus of the SEC was on Fournette. As a result, he's been the overwhelming favorite throughout the season. Fournette is going to absolutely twerk TAMU and will probably put up 180+ on Ole Miss. He's in the driver's seat. It will be interesting to see how the Vegas odds change.
