So he's officially done for the year? That sucks.

I caught the tail end of the replay but there was some talk of it being a dirty hit. Was it?

Damn he crushed that kid

I don't know if it was intentionally dirty or not, but the offensive lineman took a clear shot at Hightower's knees in an attempt to cut block him.

Yep. Not "officially" but only because it hasn't been announced. His knee will tell you that it's already "official."

And no -- it wasn't a dirty hit. Those claiming it was don't know football.

Which is a perfectly legal block.

that was a legit block, it sucks but it was clean.

Doesn't mean it should have happened. The block would have been just as effective had he stayed high and put a body on him. I realize it was technically a "clean" block - it just sucks for Hightower and it sucks for Bama... particularly since the block was unnecessary.

I just hate he won't get to be a part of this season, I think we will be ok without him. But he DESERVES to be on that field. He is a GREAT player.

What have y'all heard that makes you think it's so serious?

And, btw it kinda looked dirty cuz he launched himself helmet first into his knee. But, the blocker was also kinda fallin down at the same time, so I don't really think he was tryin to spear his knee.

I was thinking the whole game that if Arky kept Chaz Ramseying your team, there would be no one left...

Saban's comments and Hightower's expressions, along with Bama Scoops analysis pretty much sums it up. I was hopeful at first, but not so much now.

Blocks like these are thrown multiple times in every game, it was just bad luck.

Doesn't mean it was avoidable. If his leg wasn't planted, he would have jumped up after the play. You're trying to make more out of it.

It was a clean, legal block attempt.
