going to Florida. Our outlook on getting Crowell, Swann, Dickson, and all these other folks that are GA/bama battles just improved considerably.

Nobody goes to Bama to play defense because of who the DC is.

Saban is the DC.

Saban had a great quote regarding this.

Also...

True but Smart is a hell of a recruiter. He is relentless and his rapport with the South Georgia high schools has helped him make in roads for Alabama at schools down there.

It's like saying UF was gonna lose a shitload of recruits when Spurrier's OC left.

But Kirby is supposedly their ace recruiter. Anytime people talk about Bama coming to Georgia and cleaning up in recruiting, it's because of Kirby. Him leaving damn sure doesn't hurt us there.

I dont think it has any bearing at all on Crowell, but it certainly doesn't hurt us or help Bama in regards to Dickson or Swann

Could it help UF with those players?

It may be too little too late. The only one I could think it may help with is Malcolm Mitchell, but I'm not sure if there is enough time

And you are excited that this recruiter is going to Florida, who is an annual rival and is closer in proximity to South Georgia than Tuscaloosa? Whatever helps y'all sleep at night....

I would say no just because UF isn't at the top for those guys. Malcolm Mitchell likes florida I think so he could be one to keep an eye on. But Dickson, Crowell, and Swann are UGA/Bama battles so I wouldn't think Florida would enter the mix.

Considering this recruiting year is HUGE for both UGA and Richt, there is reason to be excited if it gives us an advantage over Bama, who we are largely at war with over a lot of these guys

I would be trying to keep A.C. Leonard if I were you.

Why do some of yall refuse to exercise any reading comprehension. I said as it relates to the current recruiting wars going on for SPECIFIC, high profile recuits, it helps us. It doesn't matter if he went to Florida, Auburn, G. Tech, Tennessee, or anyone. He's leaving bama and that's the important thing.

Every time someone has left, he's been our "ace recruiter"...

It hasn't hurt yet.

I'm not very in tune with yalls program so I can't agree or disagree with that. Who else are you talking about that has left? But seriously, you have to acknowledge that (outside of Saban) Smart is known as the top recruiter for bama right? Or at a minimum he's the one who recruits Georgia the hardest.

Kevin Steele and Lance Thompson were both trumpeted as Saban's "ace recruiters" when they left, and both have had no measurable impact on our classes.

I gotcha. Remember though I'm not saying Bama's recruiting overall will suffer without Smart, it's still Alabama and Saban so I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm strictly talking about the recruitment of 3 or 4 prospects in particular, so Kirby leaving does have an impact I would think.
