Props to ESPN for showing it

Why? I don't remember other players having the same sideshow especially in that late of a round. Dude says he wants to be treated like anyone else then why over hype an extremely feminine reaction during the draft? I don't care what his sexual preference is. That said if they cut to Cooks house, after the Saints drafted him, and he smashed cake a made out with a chick I would have thought something was wrong with him.

Being gay, who cares? Being a feminine football player probably won't go over well

Yeah, I have no skin in this game either way.
Stirring the pot, more or less.
I was just commenting to Cheese Grits's reply that he'd have been ok with two women kissing.

Yep, it's a sinful behavior, just like homosexuality. Just because 2 people agree to engage in that behavior, and it's legal in the nation they live in, doesn't mean I don't find it just as disgusting. Even if it became legal in the U.S., I wouldn't want to see a 50 year old man make out with a 9 year old girl on TV. Abortion also victimizes children, but I don't hate the abortionist or the pregnant woman, although Gosnell makes that tough, just their behavior. I would find watching an abortion disgusting, also.

As would I....on all counts. I hope you aren't misunderstanding me and where i stand on the issue?

If that is her SO she looks cute. Brit looks like a dude in that pic with no breasts and no hips, so yeah I could watch that easier.

Comparing homosexuality to pedophilia undermines whatever point you were trying to make. Actions taken between two consenting adults is none of your business. The false equivalencies that the anti-gay marriage crowd come up with make them look irrational. It is very, very easy to see the difference between homosexuality and pedophilia.

Same could be said for the pro-gay crowd. Some people don't care one way or the other yet, it gets crammed down our throats anyway

Please do point towards my also equivalencies. Also, nothing is getting crammed down your throat. You have the choice to watch and read whatever you wish.

How many hetero athletes swapped a cake-laden kiss with their girlfriend on national tv? Its just unprofessional. I don't dislike Sam, but I think he embarrassed himself.

I'm willing to bet that it has happened before.

I am assuming, then, that you would be for a brother and sister getting married and having children, then? Or an adult having relations with an animal? (Before you say the animal cannot consent, I might point out that animals have no rights and do not give their consent to be killed and eaten, either)

He wasn't saying they were equivalant. YOU said that. He was saying just because two people engage in consensual sex does not make it ok.
It makes you look just as irrational to say he was saying they were equivalent. Read what he is saying carefully, and i think you would agree, he was NOT saying they were equivalent. Simply that the behavior is not ok just because it is between two consenting adults.

Where does this cake stuff come fro? I have no problem with Sam or ESPN and I guarantee I'm older than 90% of th posters here. Maybe if more people stopped hating other people or stopped trying to dictate to others we would be better off.

And...we wanted to watch the NFL draft. NOT two gay people kissing....over and over and over. Sam was a 7th round pick. Why show the pick and kiss over and over and over again? They did not show any of the other 7th rnd picks as much as Sam's...much less the kisses. One reason...to show how inclusive and forward thinking the network is. That is called pushing an agenda.

I have no doubt that a hetero athlete has been shown kissing his girlfriend/wife after being selected. But not a 7th round pick and never shown as often and talked about as much as the Michael Sam thing was. Why? One reason. He is gay. If they want to be treated the same as everybody else, then they should demand to be treated like everybody else and not be given extra attention. No other 7th round pick got as much attention.
