A lot of my non USC friends went to Ivy League schools or schools that don't give a shite like DUKE or UVA.
I'm about to get hit with a ton of Fall Weddings.

I am going to weddings the first two weekends of CFB. Not a big deal really. I will catch some games at bars. If I want to watch the rest I can just watch them on replay.

Honestly, we shouldn't give a shite about football...but unfortunately we do.
I feel bad for you, baw. Keep your head up.

Whether you go to a wedding as a groomsman, might depend on ... what do the bride's maids look like? Never miss a chance at a really outstanding bride's maid regardless of football. Decades later you will be able to replay the game on line, but you will regret the missed bride's maid opportunity.

I'm getting married next year. I told her we are having it on a Friday or we are having it in December or I might not even be there

One if my wife's friends had a wedding in NOLA during a LSU Bama game. I don't think she ever understood why so many people either backed out, didn't show or asked if she would have a TV showing the game. I'm think my wife had a good time that night, I don't know I was in Baton Rouge

I couldn't be friends with someone not smart enough to allow himself, and friends, to miss a game. A wedding can be planned for any day.

I feel like I would have to reevaluate who my friends are if they chose a game over my wedding.

Id miss my own wedding if held during an important UF game, screw that. Bitch would know better first of all.
Try and schedule it during a big fishing tournament is just as bad.....I'd tell her we have 3 open weeks out of the year and anything else aint working.

The dude doesn't understand football, or hunting and fishing.
We could never be friends anyway so I didn't feel bad

Exactly. Fall weddings also mean fall Anniversary and you know the wife will be wanting to plan a trip somewhere together, and won't be too keen on it being in a stadium. If you're going to do fall, you have to do it late fall maybe around Thanksgiving or early December. Last fall wedding I went to was one that I was in, and it was the week before Christmas. And that was 10-12 years ago.
Get married in the spring like most sensible southerners. Mine is middle of May and the perfect time of year for a quick beach getaway.

I get why some would want a fall wedding in the South. It's the best time of the year, weather wise, at least when you get into mid-October. You get one of those postcard perfect Saturdays in October in Alabama where it's around 70 in the afternoon, not a cloud in the sky, and it dips down to mid-50's at night, and it's hard to beat. Throw in the photo opps with the changing leaves, and it makes sense.

All of you getting your panties in a wad over a game played by teenagers. it's one game, it's not that big of a deal.
And this statement above is absolutely not true. I had a smallish wedding 125 people coming from around the US. My brother had to take his medical board exam and he was given a 2 month range but not an exact date. Other close family had vacations already planned. It took quite some time to get a date that worked for the important people.

Going to a wedding on December 10th. Bride & Groom planned it on the only weekend with no important games

I gave you a script. It's perfect! Not only would you be able to see the game but the bride and groom would thank you for being at the game.
Win/Win.
