Dude went 9-4 at freakin' Vandy and can recruit like a boss. If Nick Saban retired after this season and Battle got James Franklin, I wouldn't be mad at all.

There's potential. But, also a lot of risk. He has done a great job with the LSU running backs/recruiting, no doubt. Would like to see him grow in a coordinator position first. Mike Dubose was also a great recruiter/position coach.

If you don't factor in age it's Spurrier by a country mile. If you factor in age then I'd go with Sumlin.

There's a lot of good coaches in the SEC now. A shorter list would probably be who I wouldn't like to have as a head coach: Pinkel, Mullen, Jones, and Stoops.
