With the addition of UCLA to Oklahoma's schedule, the Sooners and LSU are currently working to re-schedule their previously announced home-and-home series.

"Which non SEC team would you most like to see your team schedule a home and away with?"
Wisconsin
LSU
USC (they won't play us in Norman)
We've pretty much played everybody else who's anybody and we already have future H&As with Michigan and Ohio State looming.

No, genius, thats not what that says. LSU canceled to reschedule the series, still hasn't, and Oklahoma filled the open schedule with UCLA. Thats all that says.
LSU wanted to push the date out because, at the time, there were fears that the SEC would go to a 9 conference game slate. That's why you canceled.

OU originally had an agreement to play LSU in 2018 and '19. The two schools are working to reschedule that home-and-home at a later date. Given the strength of non-conference games already on the Sooners' plate, it is unlikely an LSU rescheduling would occur until the Nebraska series concluded in '22.
"We came to a mutual agreement to push the game back," LSU associate athletic director Verge Ausberry told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "We're still going to play the game. We're both looking at some things in future years and will reset the date pretty soon."

Looks like the games have already been rescheduled anyway...

According to a document obtained by FBSchedules.com from LSU, the two schools have satisfied that obligation and finalized new dates. But fans wanting to see these two teams square off will have to wait a long time. Oklahoma will host LSU on Sept. 18, 2027 and will return the trip to LSU on Sept. 9, 2028. via FBSchedules.com

Of course we "replaced you". We have to play SOMEBODY genius. Thats what it says. LSU was concerned about possibly moving to a 9 game conference slate due to the playoffs, like I said, and we agreed to push the game out to accomodate you. We had zero reason to reschedule.

Actually, I'm going to have to call you on that. Either provide a link to that effect or let it drop.
Every link to every story I've provided seems to back up my contention that the rescheduling was either done on Oklahoma's part or "...by mutual agreement."
You jumped in here with both feet to say it was LSU's fault, provided zero evidence, and dug in your heels despite linked accounts that contradict you.
Put up or shut up time Sooner.

No you provided an article with a tagline that says "OU replaces LSU with UCLA" which of course they replaced the open spot with somebody. That's all it says. You also canceled a home and away with NC State for some reason and paid a $100,000 penalty.

Is there no way to reply with quote on here?
I'm pretty sure your probable schedule for 2018 had a lot to do with it. We play round-robin schedules so it doesn't matter to us.
Forecasting your 2018 schedule, based upon past schedules, would have you playing the following:
@ Auburn
@ ATM
@ Arkansas
@ Oklahoma
vs Alabama
vs Georgia
You can't see any incentive to push the Oklahoma series back with a '18 gauntlet like that? We have a very favorable schedule that year with with the exception of a road trip to TCU. Why would we cancel?

What I'm not seeing is anything to back your contention that this was on LSU, not on Oklahoma, or by mutual agreement. Nothing, zip, zilch, nada. And I've looked. I expect you have, too.
Time to fess up.

Ohio State, without a doubt. Not because of their recent success but because they are a traditional team and it would be cool getting a foreign team on native soil.

Michigan vs. Georgia sounds really, really good to me.

Thanks for the tip. Weird setup you have here.
Fess up to what? I've provided you with scheduling incentives that show we would have no reason to re-schedule, but LSU would. We still needed a quality OOC opponent in an already favorable scheduling year, and you have a gauntlet to run with two very difficult and losable home games to boot.
I'm not bagging on LSU dude. That would be crazy talk. I'm pointing out there would be zero reason for us to re-schedule that game when we're already facing league perception issues due to no CCG and only having 10 teams. Why would we initiate a re-schedule?

Me too. My father has the Michigan - Oklahoma Orange Bowl program from the 70's somewhere in his house.

That's pretty awesome.
That's gonna be a battle royale. Everything college football should be. Just something that needed to happen and I'm glad I'll get to see it.
