I don't understand it with LSU fans though.

By going to a weaker conference to tie saban's record? Nah.
By beating him head to head.

Everything runs thru the SEC.
Right now it runs through Ohio State.

The B1G was better than the SEC last season.

They're 2-2 versus one another, last I checked.

I'd say they're pretty even honestly. It would be tough to choose between the two.

But they're tied head to head, no?

They're definitely damn near even. If I were to have to actually pick between the two to coach all of Meyer's previous health issues would give me pause though

Urban would need two championships over saban to erase the fact that saban and the SEC made his arse quit.
disagree.
Meyer is close to Saban right now as far as being a great head coach.

He's already better so yes winning more would only help

Who implied they weren't? You said he went to an easier conference to do it. I said he did it head to head.

Urban Meyer is the best college football coach in the game today.

If Urban gets 1 more, I would put him ahead of Saban. They are both great and I love both of their style/systems. Both programs will be strong as long as they are there, so it will be fun to see how it plays out. Hoping for Miles to get a few more to catch them!

The only coach that you can put in the Saban conversation right now in college ball is Urban.
Here's to hoping Harbaugh adds to the competition.

Yeah I'm intrigued to see what Harbaugh will accomplish at UM.

The discussion is about legacy, not about "who is the better coach". I think they are 1 and 1A in college football....and I'm not sure which is which.
Regarding Legacy however, the Big10 needs to get back to being a strong overall conference for CUM to get his just rewards. The SEC was way down this year and I still think it is the better conference top to bottom.
Also on Legacy- Saban ran CUM right out of the SEC. Fake heart attack and all- Fred Sanford style. CUM will have to take on Saban head to head a couple more times to undo that stigma.
Final note- Saban is shrewd and almost sociopathically driven. But he is a straight shooter. CUM is a huckster of the tallest order. He is bad people. He has a great gift for coaching football though. I have to root against him...its in my DNA.

As a person CUM is a piece of shite of highest order.

Saban is still the goat.... It says something that even in a down year for Bama and the SEC he can win it.... Just don't ask Saban to win the Sugar Bowl and everything is good.
Urban still has a lot to learn about consistency in a program, getting new coaches on board. If Meyer can repeat, we'll know a lot more about him and what he's learned from his failures at Florida in his quest to repeat.
