Um yes. What a stupid arse question.

Not really stupid. I think they would be, but the KSt/TCU winner would have a chance to pass Oregon I think.

Yes. If all win out that assumes Miss St plays in Atlanta and beats whichever team limps in from the east.
Only question is how far can a Big12 champion jump.
I don't see them jumping over AU based on the strength of our losses. Especially if MS State runs the table.

1st of all Auburn will not win out. Tide rolls over AU

I think they'd try hard to leave out Auburn; not a wish, just an opinion.

Depends if Miss St. wins the SECCG
I think they would leave out AU in favor of another conference champion tbh..

That's going to be tough is AU wins out. Especially if Bama beats LSU this weekend. Even if Bama loses to Ms State, they won't fall too far out of the top ten.
Then you have AU losing to #1 and beating K-State, Ole Miss, and Alabama all on the road.

I am sort of the opinion that in this scenario where Auburn and KSU win out (gross) that the committee would put KSU in over Auburn to make a point that you will not be punished for playing tough OOC games.

Edit: Changed for clarity.

I think they may take KSU as a conference champ. We will have no idea how much weight is going to be put on this. They said it would weigh in, and we can't know until the conference title games end how much pull a title has

Committee will look at the strength of the losses. Assuming the top 4 win out:
AU - 1 loss to #1 team in the country
Alabama would have 3 losses
TCU lost to a good Baylor team, but right now Baylor is at 12
KState - lost head-to-head to AU
Mich State - Even if they win their conference, will be hard for a Big10 team to make the playoff bc the conference SOS

Can't see Big 12 (10) or Notre Damn, NO CCG, so, at Best, 11-1, jumping a 12-1 Conference Champion; or, KSU jumping Auburn.

This statement makes no fricking sense. KState's only tough OOC game is Auburn & vice versa.

Committee would like fools to pick KSU over AU if they both win out.
SEC > Big 12
AU > KSU (they beat them in Manhattan, KS)
Would be much easier for the committee to justify TCU in over Auburn than KSU in over Auburn. Would still be wrong though.

I brought this up because we had this discussion in our office this morning.. an Ohio St fan, Arky alum, and me (AU alum). The OSU fan has a huge bias towards the SEC. The big point, which has already been brought up in the thread, is if TCU or K State win out. They don't play a Conf Champion game.
Miss St, FSU, and Oregon would be in. But does anyone leap over Auburn?

Michigan State, IF they can figure out how to make it happen AND save face?

Again, if K-State is in the position, I don't see how the committee puts them in over AU since AU beat them on the road.
I know this thread assumes the current top 4 win out, but what happens if all teams win out except for Bama beating MS State, but MS State still goes to SECC and wins that game?
Bama is out bc they would have two losses.
Auburn's loss is now to a team that is no longer ranked number 1.
MS State's win in the SECC will be against a 3 loss UGA team OR a Mizzou team that isn't even ranked Top25 currently
