Eh, it will take him a little bit. He will have to somewhat retool the offense to fit his scheme. Should not take him long to have the defense rolling again. But offensively yall need help. He would probably have to rely on a Freshman QB. That in and of itself will make it a challenge out of the gate.

The only acceptable answer is the day after he's hired.

Does Herman win one at Houston? Ya, SOS, but they are playing some good football right now. Would UH pony up to golden handcuff him?

I don't think he will for at least 4 years and it's no guarantee that he will ever win the big game.
LSU is losing a lot of their better players this year. They're not as talented as they want to believe to begin with, especially on the LOS.
Plus, Bama is is a well oiled machine, looks like has found a very good QB that will be her for the next 3 to 4 years.
Next TAMU seems to have turned a corner now the Chavis has the defense playing well. Also seems to have figured the importance of having a strong running game and controlling the TOP.
Ark seems to be steadily improving and has a future star at QB in Allen. Bert has them positioned well.
Those 3 teams all are in better shape going forward for the next few years and I see no reason they will have a significant drop.
Also, Will L5U be patient enough with him when they don't win like they believe they should? Seems like they think he can come in, wave a wand, and Boom. LSU fans need to accept that they're not head and shoulders above programs like TAMU, ARK, AU and Bama (goes without saying but did anyway)and a new coach doesn't mean that they will sky rocket past those teams. LSU, if fortunate, will be top 3-4 on a yearly basis and every few years when things line up should expect to win the SECW.

Tom Herman is not going to come to LSU. If the BIG 12 expands, I imagine he'll stay at Houston. At least until the Texas job opens up, which may be at season's end.
Now one name I haven't heard mentioned but is definitely something to keep an eye on is Brent Venables.

IF it did happen, I guarantee they'd be 2017 August National Champions. We know next year is a rebuilding year, so they can have it.

Prediction: Tom Herman wins a national championship in his first year and then leaves LSU after three years to coach in the NFL.

I'm not sure why you guys keep setting yourselves up for so much disappointment.
How long does it take Dan Mullen, Rich Rodriguez, Dana Holgorsen, Bo Pellini, etc. to win a National Championship?

I think his 2nd year, but a slim chance his first year.

Are y'all for real though? Do you really think Herman will compete at the top of the SEC within 2-3 years? If so, why? I'm not trolling, I really want to know. I truly don't get it.
1. Run s a system that has been shown to work on the SEC level (CUM as Florida, Mullen to a certain extent at MSU)
2. Took a 5-7 Houston team and turned them into what used to be called a BCS Buster.
18-1 as a head coach is nothing to sneeze at, beat Oklahoma and FSU is a big deal.
3. Was the OC for the last team to really beat the shite out of Bama.
4. Member of Mensa Literal genius
5. Les isn't leaving a empty cupboard. There is a lot of talent on this team. Last 3 classes were top 10.

I think he would make LSU a true championship contender in year 2. I think he's that good and LSU has talent all around to work with.
