Waitwaitwait. Virginia is NOT a Southern state? The capital of the Confederacy is NOT A SOUTHERN STATE?????
I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.
I have coworkers who grew up on the coast and semi-seriously consider anybody who grew up north of I-10 a Yankee.
But I'm going with "laugh" in your case. Crying about other ranters being idiots makes no sense.

You do realize TAMU was a SIAA member and had they not let texas talk them into the SWC they would have been a charter member of the SEC right? 100 years of being mired in the SWC and B12 could have been avoided long ago.

Anyone but them.
We joke about Bama fans only caring about football. It's really true with them. Hell half their fans turn into Duke or UNC fans come basketball season.

I lived in Richmond for 12 years, and never considered it Southern. May of been 150 years ago, but not anymore. IMO

Notre Dame.
The SECN would be guarenteed basic cable tier status in the majority of the nation if they were added.

We have had a non southern school from day 1 of the conference being formed. Kentucky is just as Yankee as Missouri or any other future hypothetical members. So it would not be that unusual.
However despite all of that I feel that the conference should get rid of the Yankee schools we have (Kentucky, Missouri) and whenever we next expand never add any schools from a Yankee state.
If your state did not side with the confederacy, was a state at the time of the civil war, or was not a state during the Civil War but has any part further north than Virginia, or is not a part of the lower 48 states then your state is a no good Yankee state.
That means out of states with a school in the SEC only North Carolina, Virginia, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona are acceptable to add to the conference.

Oklahoma in the west
Notre Dame in the east
That should round things off nicely.

The dumbassery of your post is astounding. Jefferson Davis (the president of the CSA) was a Kentucky lad and Lexington (where UK is located) is decidedly southern in culture and nature. The cities of Louisville (UL) and Cincinnati (UC) were the concentration of Yankee influence for the state. As both were river and border towns they were unlike the population of the rest of the state. Have you ever lived in the state (especially prior to the great Toyota migration of 1980) to have even a remote clue of the old history of UK and Lexington?
Perhaps you should study Thomas Hunt Morgan and John Wesley Hunt before getting your panties in a wad about how Yankee UK is.

LOL@KY being Yankee. You do know most people overseas considered EVERYBODY born in the U.S. a YANKEE no matter if you're born in the North, South, East coast, West Coast, midwest. They consider every American a YANKEE.

I think of Oklahoma more midwest, western culture. Strong indian culture, old west/cowboy/ranching culture compared to dixie south or other southern cultures.
