The Big 12 is done and was as soon as Nebraska left. TX is going independent.

Texass is not going independent. That would require them to schedule tougher in football just to make a BCS bowl. It would be hell putting together a basketball schedule, as well as baseball. No way in hell Texas wants to be Indie.

If Texass, OU, Okie Lite, Kansas, KState, Iowa State all stay in the Big12 they will still have an auto-bid for the conference champion.

The schools that are left can't stay in the Big 12, there isn't any money in it. They will have to join the MWC and the PAC-12.

There is plenty of money in it for Texass, which is why the Big 12 will become the old SWC. Just adding OU, OSU, KS, KState, & Iowa State.

I know how Texass works, and they have wanted a conference they are in control of all along. Independent is not on their mind, I can promise you.

Isn't it interesting how weak and non-proactive the Big 12 leadership is? It was the same with the SWC. For all its big-balled talk, Texas sure doesn't have the cajones or vision to be on top of this whole game.

IMO, the Big 12 could survive if they added BYU, ND and Boise State. Nobody has mentioned Boise State. Here's their chance to join a conference.

Throw in TCU and you have a decent conference, in theory.

Because they do not care. OU could care less what UT does.

They do not care about the LHN. OU will always pull kids from Texas, and will always compete with Texass in most all sports because of that.

OSU will do what OU does, and OU will do what Texass does.

Thanks for the reminder. I don't know what I was thinking. That says a lot about OU as well.

It does for sure, but they do not care. They rake in the money from BCS games.

They know that with Texass in charge of the new Big12, they will still be set up nicely to get a big cut.

Why? The Big 12 will not have equal revenue sharing like the SEC does now. The Big 12 has never had that, which is why you never heard any bitching and moaning coming out of OU. Because of that, you do not hear any moaning coming out of Okie Lite.

New Big12

Texass
OU
OSU
Kansas
K-State
Iowa State
TCU
Rice
SMU
Houston
Texas Tech
Baylor/BYU/ND/Colorado St.

I think I can..."Big Game" Bob Stoops thinks he has a pretty good chance of winning the big game with Texas every year. If he can do that, OU has the edge to win the "Big 12?" conference w/o even playing a conference championship game. As long as OU doesn't screw that up, they have a good shot at getting to the BCS championship. Heck, look how many times OU got there recently, even once when they lost their conference championship!

I can see that. It's a similar motive as UTexas.

While that is a very good point, the real reason boils down to money.

As I stated a few posts up, OU benefits from the revenue sharing plan in the Big12. That is the ultimate reason you hear nothing out of Norman.

Not saying they will, but saying they will get an invite.

I do not have a link, but saw in an article from Big12 country that they will court them with an offer to join.

Well I think they go together actually...the money and how they define success in what Stoops "wins" while in Norman. Stoops is something like 2-5 in the BCS...and 1 of the "wins" was against UCONN, who had no business being in a BCS game at all.

He has lost BCS games to LSU, USC, Boise St., UF and I think West Va.

But somehow he is still Big Game Bob, and as long as that myth continues in Norman, the money will be there too. Especially since the task of beating Texas looks like it has become somewhat easier in the near future.

They did which is ridiculous. They should have waited to see how things panned out with the Big 12. They are just looking for a BCS path any path but their travel arrangements associated with the Big East will be ridiculous. I would not be surprised to see TCU cancel those plans if they get a legit offer from the Big 12.

Might be a good move for TCU to bail out of the Big East, they could end up losing the automatic BCS birth once the smoke clears.
