It doesn't Matter the name of who they get its the fit. dabo would be a disaster, his up tempo offense would do exactly the opposite of what has has been recruited for the past 7 years. Go after a coach who is defensive minded who runs a similar pro style offense. Much like Nick Saban and Les Miles. Shaw would be my choice. I believe Smart or Franklin could do very well also.

Probably the next question to ask is how long is Bama sustainable at this level post-Saban under any replacement?
LSU won a national title three years after he left and is still arguably a top tier program.

I don't see how that'd even be possible. Of course bama will still have success, just because their foundation is so solid. But I mean, he's the best coach in America and it's not really close, it's not just a given someone will come in and not miss a beat.
Bama will be good, but they'll fall a peg when saban leaves. Granted, that may mean losing 2 games a year instead of 0, they won't be awful, but they won't be as good as they are now. It's just not feasible.

Bama will eventually fall a peg, even if Saban stays for the next 15 years. There's literally nowhere to go but down. An NC every year is not sustainable, even under Saban. I mean there are just too many other factors that a coach can't control.

even with a great fit i dont see how they can match sabans run. it is a more impressive run than the bear.

Dude, kelly was only an asst for 1 year and he was the only reason they had any success his 1 year as an asst. Dennis Dixon was terrible before he got there from what I remember.
I'm talking a guy who's pretty much spent his entire major asst coaching career under 1 successful HC

well yea of course the current level can't be sustained.
im not even sure 08-11 could be maintained by the right fit. undefeated season, 2 national titles and a sec title and the 10 win season.
id think a good fit would probably produce 1 national title and 2 sec titles in that time frame, with a undefeated year, 1 loss year and then ten wins the other 2 years.
