The very concept of a conference championship to give a title is based on a fallacy.
The Pac-10 had the absolute best system for handing out a title.

Great rematch last night between Wisconsin and MSU. Is it a draw?

Wanna rematch? Get a playoff system. Auburn fans have been asking for one since 2004.

I am all for it. The only team that deserves to be sore is a Stanford team whose only loss is to a good Oregon team. Losing to a 6 and 6 team gets you no sympathy from anyone with half a brain.

Rematches aren't unfair, not winning your conference, playing a weaker schedule, shitting the bed at home, and getting the nod is unfair.
You will lose then you can beg for 3 out of 5.

And what did stanford do other than not lose?

then why bother having the SEC Championship if it is a rematch of a regular season game? We all know the real answer is to squeeze every last dollar the SEC can out of TV and fan bases but it seems rather amusing by those opposed to a rematch to say the 2nd best team in the country shouldn't play in the BCS because they lost to the #1 team during the season and are from the same conference so therefore Bama shouldn't get a shot at the BCS. It may seem unfair to LSU since they already beat Bama but if Alabama is really the 2nd best team in the country then how is it fair to Bama to deny them a ticket to the game?
Since 1999 5 SEC Championship games have been a rematch of a regular season game. In all 5 rematches the team that won in the regular season won again in the rematch. Still the winning team had to go out and win again against the team they had already beaten in order to secure an SEC championship.
Personally I believe it really doesn't matter who LSU plays. I don't see anyone beating them. They could play OSU and Bama back to back in the same night and beat both of them. LSU is that good and the scary thing is they are a young team. Wouldn't be surprised to see back to back to back BCS titles for the tigers.
The SEC Championship selection process is an OBJECTIVE method.
The BCS Championship selection process is in very large part SUBJECTIVE.
Comparing the two is asinine.

You must have took that pic after the Okie St loss. I'd hate to see your new picture after you lose to Bama in the NCG

Beat a USC team that is a heck of a lot better than any team Okie St faced all year. (except for 6 and 6 iowa st. apparently they are pretty amazing)

How is it fair to have the #2 team get an extra week to rest? How is it fair to have a team in the NC game that did not win their conference?

I would say that USC is AT LEAST on par with OU.

Gumps are grasping at anything they can to legitimize this bullshite.
3 out of 5!!!

yeah but conference championships actually require a team to earn it by winnng something to gain a birth.

They split on the year in 2 close games. How can anyone say that one team is better than the other?

Not a surprise coming from the brains of a swamp aggie. Thank god the CF voters are way more intelligent.

Screw it, I'm happy we will play the Gumps. Not only will we be able to laugh at them again, but I won't feel compelled to cheer for them in a bowl game.
Piss balloons at the ready, getting ready to knock ice cream cones out of little girls' hands, and can't wait to key cars and pull fire alarms!
