If not for the 4thand25, and Ole Miss beat FL, who would be in playoff?

Assuming that Clemson wins.
I would say:
Clemson
Oklahoma
winner of Iowa and Michigan State
and then...??
I would have to say Ole Miss for winning the SEC championship and avenging a loss to FL, but still that loss to Memphis would be tough to overlook, and it just wouldn't feel right.
I think Ohio State should probably get the nod over an SEC champion in this scenario. They lost a close game to a Michigan State team that, if they beat Iowa, would be # 2 in the polls. Not bad.
Oklahoma lost to an abysmal Texas team early in the season, but to say they've turned it around would be an understatement.
Would an AL team get in over an SEC champion team that beat AL in the regular season?
If Clemson ends up losing...holy hell what a scenario!! If things work out like they are supposed to though, I think the 4thand25 saved the CFP committee a lot of grief.

You would be wrong.
A 10-3 team would not get in over a pair of 11-1 teams.

They would be 11-2 if they beat Arkansas like the OP was suggesting dick cheese

The big question is why does Florida get to keep it's wins with an illegal QB.

I'm going to chalk that one up to a late night, and maybe you're drinking a lil.

Fair question. USC's wins were vacated due to Reggie's situation, but apparently giving $ to an amateur's family is way more serious than an amateur using a banned PED.

Good fricking question. I'd like to know that myself.

Language.
I'm slightly intoxicated.
But to answer the OP's question, I don't believe they get in over Alabama. Sure...they avenge their loss to Florida but they still lost to them by 28 points in the regular season while also losing to Memphis.
Most people look back on that Alabama loss to Ole Miss and see 5 turnovers.

So if Ole Miss's only loss was to Memphis? Yes, a one-loss SEC champion would get in
Edit: Oh, you meant beat UF in the SECCG. It's not guaranteed by any means. Notre Dame and Stanford have a case, and then there's the issue of one-loss Ohio State

It would be either Ohio State or Alabama. Based on the fact that the committee was ranking a one-loss Alabama over an undefeated Ohio State up until the Ohio State-Michigan State game, it would appear that the committee puts more value in Alabama's performance this season than in Ohio State's. So I would guess Alabama.

Title is extremely ambiguous- I interpreted it to mean Ole Miss had beaten Florida in the regular season

1. Kansas
2. UCF
3. Mizzou
4. ???

Can't believe it has gotten to the point where Arkansas fans are the only people who can legit troll Ole Miss.

In that scenario, they'd have both won the conference and beaten Alabama head-to-head.
Of course, that didn't keep Bama out in 2011, but it's not the same because they didn't leap frog LSU.

You also have to remember that for some reason, Georgia lost to SCAR 35-7 in 2012 but ended up almost playing for a NC.

If it really came down to choosing between Ole Miss and Alabama to be in the playoffs, who do you honestly think the committee would choose? Historical prestige, national visibility, and a fanbase's ability to travel are not insignificant considerations in debates like these.

Well, Bama is #2 so 2 to 5 would be a heck of a drop in one week on non play, while moving up a team also not playing in OSU. Drop Bama from #2 to #5 when the team it lost to in a close game shows its chops by winning the conference?
Ohio State's best chance would come with a MSU win. The same logic as for Bama above. "Hey that team they lost to is good."
UF doesn't have a case because you have them losing to OM.
Without the Arky loss who knows what OM's ranking would be, That's a tough call too. Perhaps 11? 11--->4, while moving Bama to 5 and OSU to 6 with a MSU win would be tough.
What a messy scenario

Just like an Aggy at fish camp, Bama would get in through the backdoor.
