You jest but given the disparity between UCONN and everyone else right now an upset would actually be pretty damned enormous. UCONN has an aura of invincibility that is even above Bama football at its best (pick your favorite Bama team from your current run).

How long is their win streak?

111. This is a down year for them and they are 36-0. If they don't lose this weekend, they will hit 200.

I jest slightly, but it would be a monumental task to achieve giving the fact of where both schools are seen ar this place in time . Truely David vs. Goliath scenario. I will be pulling hard for it to happen .But ................

It has a lot of parallels to the Miracle on Ice game without the geopolitical issues.

A ridiculous streak. UConn has won 111 straight. USSR had won four straight gold medals and had not lost in an Olympic game in 20 years.

A recent beatdown. UConn beat MSU by 60 in last year's Sweet 16. The USSR beat USA 10-3 in the last meeting.

The game is a semifinal. USA had to beat Finland for the gold medal two days later. If MSU were to upset UConn, they would have to come back and play South Carolina or Stanford for the title. If they don't win the title, it's not as big of an upset.

I really think it would be the biggest upset in SEC sports history. It might be one of the five biggest upsets in all of sports history.

1. Miracle on Ice (USA over USSR in '80 Olympic Ice Hockey)
2. Super Bowl III (Jets win Super Bowl over Colts as 20 point underdog)
3. Buster Douglas (42-1 underdog against Tyson in his prime)
4. Appalachian State over Michigan in 2007
5. Villanova wins 1985 NCAA Title as No. 8 seed
6. NC State over Houston in 1983 NCAA Title Game
7. Kerilin upset in 2008 Olympic Wrestling
8. Reds Sweep A's in 1990 World Series
9. Stanford beats USC as 41 point underdog
10. Harvard beats Stanford women as a 16 seed.

In looking at some 100 Biggest Upsets list, the only SEC teams that come up was

Georgia losing the College World Series to Fresno State (Fresno State was a 4 seed automatic bid)

List is sh*t

Does not include

A) Upset beating Man O War (the upset of all time and why we use the upset term today, but then it was the name of the actual horse)

B) Centre College beating Harvard (it was the biggest college football upset of all time in the past century and supposedly still on ESPN's Top 3 list.

Mississippi state beating a Bama team in 1981 that was on a 21 game win streak was kind of a big deal.

Oh yeah, when America lost the America Cup in what the 1980's or 1990's it was their first lost in 100 to 200 years, now that is a win streak even the Harlem Globetrotters could envy.
