2006 - Another 11-2 record and a Sugar Bowl W. So this can't be too embarrassing
2007 - National title
2008 - Ok, I'll give you this one with an 8-5 record. Still a winning record. Laughing stock? Pretty sure there was another coach this season who got embarrassed too, you might know who I'm talking about
2009 - 9-4 record. Not great. Notorious brain fart in the Ole Miss game.
2010 - 11-2 record. Yeah that was embarrassing.
2011 - 13-1. The only thing remotely embarrassing was the last game
Ok so besides 2008 and 2009 I guess, what is this 3 to 4 yr period of embarrassment you speak of? '
And you're certainly one to talk about coaches when YOU yourself wanted Nick Saban out of Tuscaloosa after you won last year's damn national championship.

Actually, Dinardo gets way less credit than he deserves. I really feel like LSU got the right coaches for the respective jobs following that bastard from Southern Miss. Dinardo started the process of locking down the state in recruiting, had success, but was too loyal to bad assistants. Saban came in and made us realize what heights we could achieve. Miles has followed it up by making sure we know that we can consistently reach those heights.

Still his best coaching job. And IMO, may remain so no matter what else he does in his career ever.

2013 may provide an opportunity. I have a feeling, if things go well in 2012, the club will lose a lot of guys, a whole lot of guys including a good QB. If this proves the case, then getting the 2013 club an 11 win season may be a tremendous accomplishment. Too far in the future I know, but something I can see happening.

Miles' coaching style lately reminds me a lot of Stallings when he was at Bama. Run the ball out of the I, mix in enough passing to keep the D honest, and play great special teams and defense. I think he would have as much success as Stallings had (and he wouldn't get us on probation) 
Having said that I do agree with those who suggested his personality wouldn't gel at Bama. I'm not saying one is better, but it's definately different. I mean they basically ran Bill Curry off after an 11-2 season because he didn't beat Auburn and was an "outsider"

I think as long as Saban came before him he would do just fine maintaining the program like he has done at LSU. It is easier when someone else builds the kingdom and then gives you the keys to the gate.

Les was mediocre at OSU. Credit goes to Boone Pickens' massive cash infusion and Mike Gundy's coaching. Gundy is the most under-rated coach out there. Every year OSU's demise is predicted and every year Gundy shames his haters.

All he is saying is Dinardo was the one who actually first got the ball rolling in the right direction after the diaster of the Hallman early 90's. The biggest recruit LSU ever got in the past 2 decades was Kevin Faulk in 95 because it changed the mindset of elite Louisiana players leaving the state for Fla. State, Tenn., Texas schools etc to begin staying home again and "build the wall around LA". He also brought brack a more winning mindset to the fanbase by starting recruiting the bash party on signing day.
While his coaching itself was inconsistent and his stubborness to keep coaches too long was his eventual downfall (Lou Tepper), your not telling the whole story if you can't see where he did in fact begin to pave the way for SABAN to come in a great situation and take LSU to the next elite Level. Just look at how many players on that 2001 SEC championship team were Dinardo recruits.
