I'm not defending the Whorns. I'm casting light on your conference's lack of confidence in Aggots carrying their conference banner in a bowl game in Texas. Wouldn't matter if it was Texas, Tech, Baylor or TCU. They'll send the best team there that they believe will assure a victory in the game in a crucial recruiting area. That's what they did last year.

Thanks, I enjoyed those. You have to understand the SEC to understand this. The truth is that the SEC as a whole doesn't really care about this rivalry. This is about aTm. aTm doesn't want to play Texas, not because of recruting reasons but because of financial reasons. The SEC will stand behind any member, while they are negotiating with a non conference member. The two schools can't agree on money, and the SEC backs aTm. One day the two schools will come to an agreement, and the rivalry will be renewed. All UT has to do is come off of more money to play aTm, at the end of the day.

We're talking about two different things. I'm talking about how your conference controls who goes to what bowl game after the major bowls make their picks. Renewing the Aggie/ Whorn non-rivalry as a season game is a very different thing.
