I think the Kiffin haters forget this important point

I mean, he failed in Oakland, but so have numerous coaches. His time at Tennessee basically doesn't count.. His record at USC was 28-15, so it's was nothing spectacular, but they were on heavy sanctions from Carroll's era.

His reputation is well-earned because he was, and possibly still is, an arrogant shitbag.

No one in the SEC is actually going to hire Art Briles are they?

I would hope that is a line that even SEC teams won't cross.

this is exactly what I've been trying to argue. I don't care if he's an immature prick if he can come win.

I wouldn't be upset if he was the choice, if Miles were to be fired. I'd prefer Herman or Jimbo, but I honestly believe those are pipe dreams.

It's not the loss. It's the way they lost. With Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice, Travin Dural and Malachi Dupre we were able to get 7 pts in 4 quarters. Off of a 40yd TD drive. Les is an offensive cancer. This team is talented enough to complete for the title, yet we'll lose 3-4 games yet again.

but some of these same guys have been asking for Miles' head since 2011.

Further back than 2011 - they wanted sent out on a rail after the 2008/2009 seasons.

It was the Ole Miss in 09 and Tennesse in 10 debacle that made me want him gone. That 11 run was incredible but that was a starting NFL defense.

I thought he should get a chance to right the ship after last year, but he literally changed nothing.

This is an intriguing post. Why do you believe he would be more successful at LSU than he was at USCw? I am not arguing that he would not. Just wondering why he would.

First off, I am not a Kiffin fan and don't want him at LSU. I am only saying that Kiffin would win in similar fashion to Les (9-10 per season on average) because he can recruit and LSU has an advantage over most of its opponents from a recruiting perspective. If he hired a good DC or retained Aranda, he could win 9-10 per year at LSU (with the occasional 8 win year or 11 win year).

He was a leg down at USC out of the gate because right after he took over, they were issued drastic sanctions by the NCAA. I don't think he had the mental maturity to handle it then...not sure he does now either.

Point being, LSU is in a better spot than USC was when he took over.

Again, I want Herman...not Kiffin. I also don't want Jimbo, but for other reasons (namely - he is a piece of shite that defended to no end his rapey Heisman QB).

Maybe Aranda because he is one of the hot young coordinators in the country who will get a major HC job soon. But if LSU does not think he's ready, none on that list.

Kiffin is a program cancer. Think about it, he took a preseason #1 team when he was at USC and tanked it. Apparently he was such a prick that Pat Hayden thought it a good idea to fire him at 3 a.m in the morning after losing a game.

Herman could be a possibility, but you had better keep Les until the end of the season unless you want a true dumpster fire from a recruiting standpoint

Fisher - urban myth

Jeremy Pruitt -no

Art Briles - may be going to prison(that's no joke) for conspiracy

If you cannot keep Aranda, and Herman balks because Houston joins he Big 12 and the Houston boosters give him 5 million and free reign. Then you have to look elsewhere. think these 3:

Chris Klieman - ND State ( if he beat Iowa, he's on everyone's short list...and ND State has been known to beat good Div 1 teams)

J. L. Mora- he's done just about all he can at UCLA - USC and Stanford are THE teams in California

Ken Niumatolo - very good record at Navy. Has done a lot with less. Has won 65% of his games there....no small feat given some of the restrictions Navy has ( although not as much as Army)

Lord - Y'all may be better served keeping Les if those are the only choices for replacement.
