Did Switzer mishandle him?

By the way he is the 2nd best player from Philadelphia Ms.

If he went to Southern Miss he would have been. That was the only school he would have been comfortable at because it was close to his Mom.

Hell if Barry Switzer hadn't stayed on his arse so much, he would have been fine at Oklahoma. Even Switzer says it's his fault Marcus quit.

He would have been the best running back in the history of college football had he went to Bama.

Tyler Threadgill?

I don't think Dupree had the heart to ever hit his potential. He was ill prepared for the work it takes to make it at an Oklahoma. I would hear that he was routinely held out of practice at high school to avoid injuries. He didn't need to practice in high school. He was just that much better than everyone else. Switzer rode him pretty hard but some players get better when ridden hard. He got got fat and got his butt on his shoulders.

He still wouldn't have been better than Barry Sanders even if he had stayed at Oklahoma.

OU RBs > Bama RBs

It's not even close.

True. I hate ou, but true.

To answer the op, that good man of God(No not Hugh Freeze) would've ended DuPree's amateur status no matter where he went. He had way too much influence over an innocent, naive kid with few advocates looking out for his best interest.

This guy is correct. Marcus had little work ethic, and some parasitic influences around him. He most likely would have been doomed anywhere he went.

The problems Dupree had would have followed him to any school he went to.

Marcus was a lazy frick that didn't want to put in the work it requires in big time ball. He went to southern miss but didn't want to sit out a year.

Barry Switzer didn't mishandled him. He just didn't coddle him and Dupree had never been yelled at by a coach.

Who ever said Tyler Threadgill needs their damn head examined! I know some guys that played with him at Philly, the stories of how dumb he was are hilarious.
