Some of these responses really show how ignorant some posters on this board are. He'd clearly be a huge upgrade for LSU.

Time will tell, but it would be an upgrade. The national total offense ranking is abysmal. A lot of people dogged us for hiring "3rd and Chavis". He's been the best DC I've seen in my 30+ yrs as a LSU fan. Kudos to miles if he makes a move. Swallowing his pride and making an attempt to better the situation. Much like Malveto. It's better than sitting on the pot.

He's an upgrade over Stud. I dont think anyone would question that. But I'm not sure it's going to matter with Les. I have my doubts but time will tell. I'll have to see it to be convinced.

I think a guy with 10+ years OC experience will get the reigns. Les had a vice grip on the O because we didn't have a real OC. Just converted a frickin' position coach with no experience as an OC.

We're good fellas. This is what we needed.

6. He actually has a bs tendency to trend away from what's working, if you watced games he called. The Ravens were much better down the stretch after getting rid of him.

I rated him a 6 based off of his name in football and him being a high profile OC. There's several teams out there with better OC's for the college level IMO.

It has the potential to be a 10. I'd rate it at a 7 initially just because there are too many unknown factors. Still don't know if Miles will GTFO of the way.

Considering we're working at about a 2 on to 1-10 scale at the moment with Studthorpe, I'd be fricking thrilled.

I might be inclined to give Les the benefit of the doubt here. Les seemed to have given Crowton free reign for 2007 and most of 2008. It was only near the end of 2008 that he really put a chokehold on the offense.

Les and Cam go way back. I believe that if there is any other coach in the world that Les would totally trust with the offense it would be Cam. Even if it's just a debate that happens on Tuesday during game planning, I think that Les would be more willing to hear Cam out and perhaps concede a point or two to the very seasoned playcalling veteran.

That's my hope anyway.

Agree. All of this "Les isn't going to change!" stuff is retarded (but fitting coming from our retarded fans). Crowton had Les's trust at one point, but he lost it, and deservedly so.

If Les didn't want to change the offense, he wouldn't make changes. Period. End of fricking story.

Lol get your head out of the sand. Offense hasn't changed much/if at all since Les became HC.

it actually has changed with each new OC Fisher, Crowton, and Stud.

but I wouldn't expect most people to understand it.

Every HC has a footprint on their offense. That's why you're the HC. But to say the offense has always been in Les' hands is false.

Im on this train.

Les gives power to those he trusts. If he doesn't trust you, then you dont get it. See the QB position the past few years. When coach deosn't trust the QB he doesn't let them throw passes that could go wrong. It is dumb IMO, but the best way to combat it is to put other around him that he trusts so he can hand over the reins. Im hoping this hire would do that.

Only time will tell, but I think it would be a solid hire.
