I would then be considered a traitor.
Funny thing is if Coach O actually cared about the future of these kids he would tell them to make their own choice on where they play football
To tell a kid to refuse a scholarship from UCLA is nonsense. I am not a fan of UCLA but I know it is a great university and an education from there goes a long way.
Coach O needs to quit lying to these kids and tell them the truth. That there is a life outside of Louisiana and most people in the state move away if they want a future and to find a well paying job.
Nothing wrong with Louisiana as I love the state but it is the god's honest truth

Just win some games then you do not have to turn your state into Cuba.
Coach O the new Fidel Castro is seems like

Comment: you do not see much of this type behavior from fans from any other State in the SEC. Louisiana is the only SEC State where some of the fans think they are obligated to routinely insult, attack, threaten, harass, and go into a full throated tantrum when in-state HS senior signs with an out-of-state team.

When this happens, "treason," and "traitor," are only a few of the words used. The harassing phone calls and on-line threats are real. I have a number of first-person stories from recruits in years past whose families had to un-list their number. One Alabama recruit's family finally moved out of State.

I have wondered if it is because there is only one central State university in Louisiana? The fans are just not used to seeing a recruit go to a rival and in most States that happens all the time... in-State rival at that.

I know it is probably a small group that is responsible for this behavior, but it is encouraged and instigated on-line to a huge degree... again unlike any other State. Unfortunately, now you have that behavior seeming to be exhibited front and center by the head coach, not hidden in the back alleys and fever swamps. You never saw Saban resort to this exclusion stuff when he was at LSU... he built a fence around Louisiana the right way...straight up head to head recruiting competition.

The root cause? I think it is the same phenomena that causes LSU fans to be unusually unrealistic ... small-pond isolation. When a goodly portion of the population of a State has never been outside the State borders, xenophobia takes over. And what is amazing... it continues for years and years, long after college is over and done with. It truly is an ugly picture.

If you want a future/good paying job and the NFL is a possibility for you, LSU isn't a bad option. Don't let objective facts and statistics get in the way of your rant, though.

We are talking about a 3 star running back AJ Carter from Many, LA
Who has become public enemy number 1 in Louisiana because he recommitted to UCLA

dude, most ppl who ive interacted with are pretty meh with his decision. AJ was the lowest rank RC in our class. Calling him public enemy number one is taking this way too far. He's a 3 star RB. He isn't Dylan Moses, or Felipe Franks.

Be prepared for coonasses to openly wish for you to go to prison, or otherwise lose your football career.

It is precedences more than anything else I guess for LSU and Coach O
He tried everything he could to get that kid to stay in Louisiana. I guess it worked for a few days but that kid's future is much more than playing in the NFL.

Leaving Louisiana is the most rational choice for most kids lsu is recruiting, but for football.

But football exists. So they should absolutely stay home.

The kid from down there who went to USC got destroyed. Death threats.

Then he comes back to Nola after his career is over and gets killed

Lesson here is: always get the hell away from Nola.

Our fanbase has become very insecure and in denial over the past 4-5 years. The Coach O hire has made it worse.

This is an ignorant statement. I guess your definition of future and well pay differ from mine, but you can make plenty of money with a bright future in any of the fine SEC states.
