See, this logic breaks down very quickly. For example, let's examine the situation with Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Missouri. Vanderbilt beat Tennessee but lost to Missouri. Tennessee beat Missouri but lost to Vanderbilt. Missouri beat Vanderbilt but lost to Tennessee. Who is the better team? The logical assumption that teams do not have "good days" and "bad days," not to mention how match-ups affect games, is inherently flawed.

But using "off days" as a reason to excuse a loss is equally of not more flawed.

We don't have off days in Championship games.

9-2 in championship/playoff games since Saban arrived and both losses (2008 Florida and 2014 Ohio State) were to better teams.

We haven't lost a game in almost 2 full seasons. Helluva streak between off days.

It's Monday night and the game is already over. But don't tell Saban I said that.

Disagree. The argument of "off days" is based on the premise that humans are imperfect creatures who make mistakes. I cannot see any way of arguing against that premise. Now, if you want to make an argument about "better team on the day," that extra phrase "on the day" drastically changes the arguments to be made. However, that would involve a concession of such a thing as an "off day."

Like Marcus spears said earlier. U can't judge a team on one game. Every dog finds a bone every now and then..even blind ones.

He's right. How was the season? Would they be favored against ________. One game is one game. Especially playing 14 and 15 games like we do now.

If Alabama loses to Florida, it's because Alabama beat themselves, whether it's turnovers, injuries to key players, or bad playcalls. And I'm not saying that because I'm biased, I would say that about any team that has Bama's talent and record, in that scenario.
For instance, I think LSU is a better team this year than Auburn, and they lost to Auburn. But it was because of poor game management more than anything, not because that LSU team was incapable of winning that game.
Alabama is clearly more talented and stronger than Florida is this year, there isn't even any question about that, and everybody expects them to win, so if they manage to lose...it will have to be because of something pretty catastrophic throwing them off at this point.
