A ball that bounced off of the chest of a receiver handed LSU the game, and missed field goals got us vs. Florida. Dumb to play the what if game.

If A&M doesn't miss its field goals against Florida, they are national champs. So I mean...

Bertolet didn't miss a field goal against Florida.
Sumlin did ice their kicker and he made the second kick.

aTm played very vanilla against Alabama in the second half. I think Sumlin felt sorry for the lil' man and called off the dogs before it got ugly.

Slive gave Sumlin a talking to after the beatdown at Auburn. Something about not embarrassing Big 6 teams too badly on their own turf.

No. Without the Bama win, they would have given it to the dead virtual girlfriend.

Nah, he wouldn't have gotten it without the win against Bama. Even most of the ESPN analysts and Heisman voters were saying this.

Last year mid "2011 season" and the off season all of the LSU fans were talking about how good of a coach Les Miles is.

Now the opinions have changed.

I feel that Bama would not have won the GA game. GA brought a HARD game ... well fought ... either could have won.

I believe the loss enabled Bama to beat GA.

Bama or GA would have thrashed ND.

Yep. The A&M loss hurt but it made '12 Alabama a better team in the long run.

What if Mike Evans doesnt pop up a perfectly thrown slant that would have likely gone for a TD against LSU?

A&M would have been the one routing the domers in Miami.

If if and buts were candy and nuts...

It's funny too. At least to me. Was watching the TAMU game with 6 year old son. I kept screaming during the TAMU game "run the freaking ball" because Bama was so easily able to do so at will. Granted Bama fell way behind, so perhaps coaches felt running (from a time left in game perspective) was not the right option. However, Bama had WAY too many 3 and outs in that game because we did not pound the rock without any regard to time left on the clock.

However, in the GA game, down by 11 points, Bama STARTED to pound the rock on the ground.

I truly believe that Saban told the OC (or OC finally saw) that NO ONE could stop Bama on the ground with this year's offensive line.

I believe that lesson learned during the TAMU loss is that they could NOT stop us on the ground. We later learned that no one could.

Exactly. If bama didn't score on their last possession against LSU, UGA is the national champ.

Wrong. If Bama lost to LSU, LSU would have gone to SECCG...beat UGA and then beat ND.

LSU would have been NC

False. A&M held Bama to a season low in YPC and stopped five runs for zero gain or negative yardage, a season high for anyone against Bama.

Not Eddie Lacy. He was at 5.8 YPC for the game. 4 handoffs to him from the 6 yard line....bama wins.

If we score there and everything else is exactly the same, AJ has an actual chance at the Heisman.
