Add to that the infantile response of rubbing it in our face and claiming all credit in the way that Bama fans do toward LSU, well, that is the source of the hatred that if flowing from Louisiana right now. It all finds it's home in the ignorance that is the Bama nation. If you guys (again, not talking about the Bama posters on this board) would have a little humility and give LSU and Coach Miles a little credit, then you'd see a huge change in attitude toward you.
This has been the source of animosity from AU fans forever. Bama fans have never wanted to give AU any credit or respect for anything, so AU gets pissed. When AU beats Bama there is ALWAYS an excuse from the MAJORITY of Bama nation. The most recent is probation, but there has always been one. I remember when I was a little kid in the 80's and then early 90's at school after AU won it would be the refs cheated or Pat Dye cheated, or whatever. Never any credit given and it has never changed. LSU fans are seeing this now and it may never change with the majority of bama fans. It does not matter that LSU is currently better or that AU has been better for almost 30 years, the delusion runs strong in gumpland and facts are not relevant.

KP.....
Tell me....how many losing seasons has Florida had over the last 25?
I have no reason to debate people who can't debate, much less think outside a little box.
Including you.

That argument will not float.
Shula won 10 games just two short years ago.
BAMA fans will have a tough time winning this argument.

In the end last year, how many of you LSU fans really cared what SOME of the Bama nation was saying about Miles winning with Saban's players ? Did it stop any of you from celebrating the MNC ? Did you not go out and party in New Orleans because of what SOME Bama fans were saying ? NO
I don't give a crap if you guys wanna say every win this year was because of Bill Curry, Mike Dubose, Mike Price, Mike Shula, WHOEVER. I will celebrate a win knowing it was the players who were out on the field and the coaches who were right there with them during the game.
Just my 2 cents, anyway, PLEASE keep starting threads about Bama fans, coaches, and players..........it's what keep us Bama fans around

I love how Alabama fans talk tough about "12 National Titles", of which maybe 3 were/are 'outright' not shared. Yet they always pile on Auburn for 'half a title' with Ohio State in 1957.

The problem with Shula is that in his last year with the club which was 2 seasons ago, the tide went 6-6. It was his 4th year and he was playing with mostly guys he recruited. I don't think he really recruited the right type of player to win big in the SEC.
In 4 years his teams were over .500 only once and he took a big jump down in year 4.
Alabama 2003 4 9 .308
Alabama 2004 6 6 .500 Music City Bowl (Loss)
Alabama 2005 10 2 .833 Cotton Bowl (Win)
Alabama 2006 6 6 .500 Independence Bowl (loss under interim coach)

You make good points and seem like a good, reasonable Alabama fan. However, most Alabama fans insist that Saban inherited an LSU program about to drop the sport since the team had so few good players. Yet,somehow LSU won 8 games in year one ,including a two td win vs Georgia Tech in the Peach Bowl.Somehow that same coach struggled at Alabama in year one with a 7-6 record and held on for dear life in the Indy Bowl.
Many Alabama fans talk out of both sides of their mouths when it come to Saban/LSU.

Last 25 years, no question. AU is the #9 best program in the country is Bama is the #20 best.
LINK
Go back to 30 years, AU leads 16-14 in wins over Bama. That includes the end of the 70's and about half of the 9 straight Bama won which about cancels out AU's last 6 in a row.
So for 25 years, AU has been far supperior in terms of winning football games against a generally more difficult schedule. I say this because throughout the 80's and early 90's AU played the top 4 teams in the SEC every year (not counting themselves) UGA, FL, UT, Bama (FL, UGA, Bama all in a row). AU also played FSU every year. Bama only played 2 of the top 4 every year and never an out of conference opponent like FSU on a yearly basis.
After '92 it washed out when the SEC split into divisions.

Well, give them some credit. Bama did play Penn State for 10 or so years in a row back in the 80's. Those were some good Penn State teams as well.

Maybe 'better',but not 'far superior'. Auburn did play Florida State off from '83-'90,but Alabama played Penn State each year from '81-'90.

This is fun, watching the BAMA fans change their tune about the "Miles winning with Sabans players".

Go back 30 years and we have 3 AP national titles though and Auburn has 0.

How many NC's does AU have the last 30? Bama?
Don't get pissy just breakin balls

Some Auburn fans like to claim 1983 as a national title. We should have won the AP that year, but we didn't because we were subject of a screwjob (sound familiar?). But we still were declared national champs by the New York Times poll and a few others.

What fans ? Before you start throwing stones, why not search and quote a fan that siad that and then call them out personally instead our grouping all Bama fans together !

0-3.
Of course, it all depends on the time period being compared and other variables. Go back 30 years and you are including part of Bryant's dynasty and 2 NC's. No one really debates Bryant's greatness or dominance.
Go back 25 years which is the beginning of "post Bryant" and it is a different story. I would say the 9th best team over a 25 year period is pretty supperior to the 20th best team. In that time period, AU has a legit claim in '83, an undefeated/untied season in '93 an undefeated/untied season in 2004. All 3 years it is debatable whether AU was the best in the country. Also, in 1988 AU was a play away in the earthquake game from playing Notre Dame for the national championship in the sugar bowl.
