All last year we endlessly heard from the BAMA nation who troll this board that Les Miles sucess is because of SABAN.

Now if BAMA has any victories this year, then everybody has to credit Mike Shula. Even the delusional BAMA fans will give credit where credit is due.

Such inconsistencies in the Bama fanbase. And don't put the Bama posters here in that group, they are the exception and not the norm for their fanbase (which is I guess why they post here)

But the delusion the Bama fanbase has is off the charts. Miles is a bad coach, Saban is god, next year is the year.

I'll give credit to the Bama fans in this thread. Clearly you have some sense. Actually, most of the Bama fans that come over here have their head on straight, so I have no quarrel with you.

But, living in Alabama, I can tell you that the "Miles is an idiot who only won with Saban's players" is a constant refrain. It is beyond irritating. We win the national championship in Miles' third year and no credit or respect is given. The whole response is, "We've got your coach who put you there and you're headed for the garbage heap, so enjoy this while you can. It will end soon." Did anyone say that about Urban Meyer?

I know it shouldn't matter, but the fact that our old coach went to a rival is bad enough. Add to that the infantile response of rubbing it in our face and claiming all credit in the way that Bama fans do toward LSU, well, that is the source of the hatred that if flowing from Louisiana right now. It all finds it's home in the ignorance that is the Bama nation. If you guys (again, not talking about the Bama posters on this board) would have a little humility and give LSU and Coach Miles a little credit, then you'd see a huge change in attitude toward you.

Case in point: Look at how LSU fans respect Tim Tebow.

I know that right now, we have the potential to be a great team. As a fan I would love for us to be national championship contenders, but I know that for the time being that is a little far fetched. Right now I think that we need to be focused on being a consistent football team. We need to play 4 quarters week in and week out. Until we do we are going to continue to mediocre. We have had some good years where we won some big games against good quality opponents. But on the flip side, we have had some crappy years where we have fallen apart, gotten flat out beaten, and also lost games that we should have won. I give props to the way Lsu has overcome their down years and risen to be a great team. I think and hope that this year will be a good year for us. I'm not going to throw out predictions on wins and losses, but I'm hoping that maybe the team got embarrassed enough last year to hopefully gain some motivation to play their arse off this year. But, if this is not the case then I will still give a Roll Tide at the end of the day.

The August 5 version of the 2008 Tide matches up with LSU as well as the August 5,2007 versions of Kentucky and Arkansas did.

I think that is the major difference between the two programs. BAMA is in the endless "wait till next year"

LSU's time is now!!!!!!!

I cant argue with that. I'm waiting for an essay from BT4LSU stating that not only is LSU's time now, but LSU's time is FOREVERRRRRRR!!!!!!!

The foundation is being laid, for a successful program for many years. This is the golden age of LSU football.

Les Miles is winning on the field and recruiting lights out off the field. Its good to be a tiger.

I've always liked LSU. I think some people just bring the Les Miles noise up to piss people off... which seems to work.

I will say watching last year that LSU had no business losing to Kentucky and Arkansas. Losing to a very one-dimensional Arky team when you're in the driver seat for the championship game was shocking. I don't think it means Miles is a bad coach but that was a huge lapse that people can point too... much like losing a game to ULM.

We play in the SEC. How often does a team go undefeated? Once every 4 or 5 years a team will run the table in the SEC. So one or two losses is expected by every team in the SEC. No team including vanderbilt or Miss St is expecting a loss to ULM. You cant compare the two losses.

You can compare the 2 losses because it was a loss to a team with greatly inferior talent. LSU lost to 2 teams with greatly inferior talent last year. It happens. I'd rather lose to an inferior team when my season is already meaningless in terms of losses than when the national championship is on the line.

I think Saban and Miles are both good coaches. I think Tubs, Petrino, Urban, etc. are in that class as well. Its really difficult to talk much smack about the other coaches in the SEC when they're all so good.

The national championship was not on the line. Those losses did not stop LSU from winning its 2nd MNC in 5 years. We are well on our way to being crowned team of the decade.

And I never spoke badly of any other coach in the SEC. I think that is one of the beat things about SEC football, is the caliber of coaching is 2nd to none. No other conference is even close to the SEC in player talent or coaching talent.

Well everyone thought it was at the time. Same thing when OSU lost. It was the weirdest end of a season ever.

It was a weird season. As for LSU fans it was one of the, if not the most exciting seasons ever. Hands down it was the most exciting seasons I have ever witnessed.

Any Bama defeat can be directed solely at Shula for being such a crappy coach at in game decision making.
Any Bama win is result of the hard work that Saban put the boys thru and the passion and pride that the players feel when they put on a crimson and white uniform.
