I was reacting to another post:

Gusts no higher than 40 mph on land right now. The eye of the storm hasn't hit land yet after they projected it would almost 8 hours ago in Miami. They got totally skipped over. The rough part of that storm is coming nowhere near Gainesville.

You would still have to cancel two other scheduled games to play that game, try to collect on an insurance policy for the game this Saturday and force the league to buy out two games and lower shared revenues. Add on top of that, now you have to have the cost of a neutral site venue, you have to find one, and you now have Florida giving up a home game which their refusal to do this is why we are in this situation in the first place.

If UF gets an insurance payout, they should pony up the cash

Florida will probably be able to collect on its insurance for revenue lost due to this, and you want LSU to pay for this while allowing UF to double dip?

I can't imagine that insurance is going to pay them a penny given the rest of the country is playing in that area. The only game that has been moved is the one where the teams share a common bye week.

Have any of you people ever dealt with an insurance policy or company. I know most of you are under 20, but insurance doesn't really work like you all assume it does.

i dunno if the insurance issue is close to being resolved

ESPECIALLY if there is a plan to play the game at a later date

The Rant: the insurance company is going to take care of this! No problem at all!

The Real World: Coverage denied under these 36 exclusions. Good luck to you. Thanks for the premiums.

The Rant: Just sue them!

The Real World: Go ahead and sue us. We literally get sued all the time, and we'd rather have a court order us to pay $5 million than just give it to you when we have plenty of coverage defenses.

yeah i addressed the "insurance" argument deeper in another thread

short summary: no way there is even a coverage assessment yet, especially one with all the contingencies

I love the naiveté of the young people on this board.

Playing a road game prior to a Thursday road game is ridiculous.

Man, we're not very good at this so it's gonna take us a while to figure it all out and make a decision. We should be able to come to a decision by 8 am on 11/19.

Nope, play in Gainesville or don't play.
