What are you talking about? They gave up 160 yards rushing. That isn't really "good" no matter who you are facing. They will face better rushing attacks in the SEC all season long.

If you think Ole Miss lost because they couldnt stop the run, you didnt watch the game.

OM has a lot of talent and are a dangerous enough team to beat anyone they play. That said, with that offense it's going to be hard to ever win a title of any sort. You keep your defense worn out with all the quick scores and 3 and outs and because you have no real run game, if the pass game goes south--you're toast.

That's why I think these gimmick offenses seem to get a lot of wins, but not bring home the hardware. You have to have a legit run game to win a title. For that reason OM will continue to have a couple of huge wins every year but fail to win the West. The spread teams that have a lot of success like Meyer at UF and OSU always have very good to great power run games. Gus, Freeze and Sumlin types will continue to come up short.

Sounds about right. Congrats on back to back titles by the way.

frick a title. You think I want Ole Miss to become a powerhouse like Bama? That would be a nightmare for our fanbase.

Gus had a good power run games the years he won the SEC as OC and HC, and one of those years he won the BCS Championship.

Agree on Freeze and Sumlin, though A&M does appear to have a decent running game this year based on Saturday. Remains to be see how well it will be going forward.

Problem is most schools can't recruit the physical talent at the same level as Bama/OSU/FSU etc and meeting force with force isn't a valid strategy.

I would say the "gimmicks" have brought OM, Baylor, Oregon etc closer to titles than their previous traditional offenses.

Yeah look at Arkansas. They will be lucky to win 7 games in any given season.

They have a lot of young talent. I don't know how they'll respond to this loss but they'll kick State's butt I know that

Tey looked good for a quarter and a half after that they did not. They had a 22 pt lead and let it slip to an 11 pt deficit until they scored midway during the fourth. Having to rely on a jack rabbit start tells me that the defense has a lot of problems and they need a big cushion to play with... it's not just a problem with the one CB.

Also if Freeze is going to rely on having his QB be one of his top two rushers...he has problems and Chad Kelly can hide it for only so long

I'm not seeing three in a row over Alabama.

If they take Williams and move him to DT he would get stoned!!!!

They probably wouldn't move Williams to DT. They can line J. Allen up at DT, and he would hold his own just fine

It is sort of hard to get a picture the Ole Miss rushing attack off last nights performance. First, they basically abandoned the run even though Judd was averaging over 4 yards a carry. Secondly they went up against:

Walker, Nnadi, Sweat and James who are top 2 rounds NFL talent

&

Christmas, Hoskins, Thomas, McFadden and Marshal where the jury is still out but will likely be drafted as well.

So give it time and the rushing attack may develop this year. Now we have to figure out who the RBs will be with Wilkens academically ineligible and Swiney potentially out indefinitely.

Without a doubt but Allen isn't as fast off the snap as Walker was. Having the ability to move a +280 lbs DE that fast inside really was disruptive. He was every bit as fast as Bullard (now with The Bears) or Issac Gross last night.....which is saying something.

Kelly was fine when he had time. FSU made adjustments that kept him on his arse in the 2nd half.

True, a tell of two halves.

Kelly had 3-4 seconds to sit back and pick FSU apart or he'd tuck it & run in the first half. FSU made some fantastic adjustments at half-time and they took over the ball game. OM's defense wore down and FSU's went wild in the 2nd half.
