Bama did, people are just upset on how titles were awarded back then(before the bowl games, making bowls exhibition games of sorts).
Not that I need to make a excuse because Bama has the title anyway, but Namath scored that last second touchdown against Texas...

AP awarded before the bowl games. But Ark went undefeated. I think Ark's claim is legit. Bama, not so much.

There's a reason why the picture they just showed had a football team posing and holding up a piece of paper that said national champs and not a trophy......

Yeah, bama's title is the AP but it was bullshite that year and the AP was so embarrassed they changed the way they vote the next year.
Bama still claims it as a legit NC of course though.

Or look at it and say damn, the AP fricked up so bad naming us the NC that they had to change the next year due to massive embarrassment at naming a fradulent NC.
