Funny how everyone is conveniently forgetting that happened. Battered housewife syndrome I guess.

Bama has monstrous boosters?

Can you even identify one name?

At least Auburn has notables Jimmy Rane and Raymond Harbert.

Bama has a bunch of toothless folks in government roles slushing around federal education funds and abusing their power for influence

Your ‘gotcha’ here is that Bama’s new hire has less experience than the GOAT? There is literally no substance whatsoever in this response.

Oh wait, you’re the guy who’s always bragging about how trashy his family is and likes to drop pics of his shitty basement because it apparently impresses his trashy family. Carry on!

Oh they haven’t forgotten. But it isn’t convenient so they will just ignore it.

You have to remember, they just did a complete 180 degree turn at 180 mph this afternoon. They are still disoriented.

The best candidate to replace 72yo Nick Saban for the job was 56yo Nick Saban but that candidate does not exist.

So just gotta make do with the realistic candidates available in 2024.

Who else is there? What great coach would leave where he is to only never live up to Saban and Bear?! Is Alabama really a step up from Michigan historically? Is it a better job than Texas if you have to follow Saban?
Alabama, as great as that program is, can’t just point and say, “You, you are the new head football coach at Alabama.”
DeBoer probably told himself that he may not have another chance to coach at one of the top 3 or 4 programs in the country. It’s one of the few jobs on the planet where he will come out filthy rich, even if he fails miserably. So, what the hell! I’ll give it a try.

Bama had no other options, DaBore was as good as they could get.

Deboer managed to get his team to the championship game with a very similarly ranked defense as LSU. And he didn’t even have a Heisman quarterback.

I mean we were all told playing for a natty was no big deal when LSU hired BK.

Brian Kelly has coached one national championship game in 21 years as a D-1 coach. Whether it is a big deal or not he doesn’t do it much.

I mean DeBoer has done it the same amount of times.

I find it somewhat humorous that this is a fairly popular sentiment on one hand... and on the other hand, so many complain about the REC influence throughout the SEC.

What a great time to sit back and watch the river of logic flow!

Yep. Opposing fans try to convince themselves that Saban was leaving Bama for some better job for his first 10-12 years at Bama

But seriously, what are the names of the individuals driving the influence at Bama?

Said differently, who are these imposing personalities that only someone like a Nick Saban can handle, that will eat DeBoer alive?
