Similar post I made before the Bama-LSU national championship game:

quote:

I cannot stand the direction college football is going for the most part. All these hurry up, no huddle spread passing offenses and no defense. I know Petrino runs a spread, and has run quite a bit hurry up no huddle this year, and our defense has not always been up to par, but at least we have SOME defense and we implement SOME power run.

I'm glad the national championship is between two teams that have respectable styles of play. Two teams that win games in the trenches, with physical play, and with high caliber athletes throughout the offense AND defense.

The rest of college football can continue pussy-footing around with their high school-esque play; and I hope Arkansas soon joins LSU and Bama in their physical, dominating brand of football.

The day the SEC loses its identity and joins the rank of pussy arse football is the day I quit giving a frick about college football. If I want to watch a 57-49 game I'll play a game of NFL blitz on N64.

I hate you arrogant arse Gumps and Honey Suckle lovers, but in the end I respect the hell out of the product your team puts on the field. Here's to an all SEC matchup in the NC.

I think it's gotten even worse since then.

I'm sick of watching spread offenses. They were neat at first and I loved them, but now that everyone runs a spread, it's just silly.

Yep. It's cookie cutter football. I don't mind the spread in theory, but I'd much rather see more variety in styles that contrast each other.

This fricking shite too!

Might as well turn this into an official Festivus celebration and air all our grievances with the game.

The football players from the 70s and 80s laugh at today's pussy football league. But it's still by far the best sport to watch.

You didn't have a problem with it when Mallet was slinging it around. Don't get upset now because you miss Petrino

It's actually 4 seconds. It's called the Fairley/Murray Rule.

Look at my post above where I linked a similar post I made in 2011 where I admitted I wanted Arkansas to become more like LSU and Bama. Also, Petrino's offense does implement power run from under center.

I still love watching football, but they gotta do something about all the commercial breaks. 4 houor games are just too damn long. The CBS games are the worst. Its irritating when you're in the stands. It takes a lot of momentum out of the game.

I honestly think the games on CBS are by FAR the best thing about College Football. Sure, it takes 4 hours for a game but it is fun when at a viewing party or a sports bar. Gary and Verne are fantastic.

As cheesy as it sounds, I get chills when they play the opening promo of the game. To me, that's College Football.

I am not a SEC homer by any means but you SEC fans have a very special thing going on with CBS.

I cannot stand when watching a shite awful ESPN noon game and there is ZERO crowd volume. Zero Energy. That's the shite that ruins college football.

ESPN has totally fricked up college football but if CBS were to ever do to the ACC like they do with the SEC.... Man, it would be my dream because CBS adds intensity to the game.

The football games on CBS are BY FAR the best in the business in my opinion. This coming from an ACC homer.

You SEC guys are so damn lucky to have the opportunity to experience it each Saturday.

If you want to be more like Bama you better add some HUNH and option read to your game plan.

I said that I wanted that in 2011.
