Got outcoached and out played on special teams. It's pretty simple.

We'll pick those fricking dump passes off , next time, and you'll get NOTHING.

If your defense is in position to pick those dump passes off, then we'll have wide receivers running down field wide open. I'll take it.

no doubt bama's offense is a little better than LSU's, although I think much of that is playcalling more than talent. But I think the defenses are a wash. At the end of the game though, LSU's defense held up better, probably because the rotate so many lineman throughout the game.

With LSU having the ball on the 5 with about 3-4 minutes to go, a stop would have given Bama good field position, instead they allowed LSU to get the ball out near mid-field and flip field position. At that point LSU was content to let the clock run as long as Saban didn't call timeouts, but I wish they would have ran play action on 3rd and 2 because Bama had 10 in the box.

In OT LSU pushed Bama back, while Bama's D gave up the big play.

I can't remember how many time I've read Bama fans write "this was the most painful Bama loss I've ever experienced".

They thought Bama would over power LSU and at the end they didn't even have enough in their tank to finish the game.

This is the part that surprised me.

Bama in OT was lifeless - they were spent.

LSU hit another gear on both offense AND defense and pushed Bama back and ran it down their throats for the win.

LSU spotted Bama with near FG position twice with INT's.

This was classic Les Miles. Don't beat yourself and pull out the win at the end. He treated this game like just another game on the schedule and is already focusing on the next game.

Bama O had a better passing game on the LSU D
LSU O had a better rushing game on the Bama D

This second fact inspite of - Bama having TR and let us not quibble - he IS the best RB in the country and LSU D contained him and Bama D gave up almost THRICE as many rushing yards, compared to their average, to LSU RBs.

The reason LSU D was better in that game is also that things were back to 0-0 in OT and the LSU D made the plays by pressuring and hurrying your QB as well as sacking him

whereas

The Bama D let Ford run to the 7 yard line.

Yet you claim Bama D was better in that game

Finally, somebody else is seeing the significance in this.

Bama outperformed LSU on offense and on defense.

The scoreboard indicated otherwise. Our offense got us in effective field-goal kicking range. Our defense kept you out of effective field-goal kicking range. Our special teams may be better than yours, but I don't think they were the only ones who played.

I have no problem with fans complaining about a bad call or where somebody screwed up. It's easy to what-if everything after a tough loss, but it's still a loss. Seeing your team lose sucks, but claiming they shouldn't have lost just proves you're a loser. It's cheap and shows a lack of character. Let the other team enjoy their win. They played hard and they earned it. If Bama had played better, they might've won. They didn't. LSU could have played better, too. LSU had opportunities they didn't capitalize on. You could've lost by more than you did.

Both teams are very good. I wasn't sure who was going to win until the last minute. Bama lost. They're a good team, but they lost. Take it like a man and don't cry about how the score should be different because of one stat or another. The score matters. Stats don't. I'm not happy when LSU loses, but I let the other team enjoy their win. I don't cry about it.

Just in case I didn't make it clear enough, BAMA LOST. Move on.

I agree, but unfortunately some people don't understand that. They can't accept that the game is over and their team lost. I understand being bummed that your team lost. I understand second-guessing the game. I don't understand trying to lessen the achievements of the other team by telling them they shouldn't have won.

No. Being "in range" means you have enough leg to kick it through the uprights. We've made field goals from those distances before (with the exception of the one in overtime). We got to within field goal range of our kickers on 5 different occasions.
Prior to the LSU game, you have only made ONE field goal beyond 40 yards all year long.

On the season (pre-LSU),
Shelley: 0/1 over 40. Season long = 37 yards.
Foster: 1/3 over 40. Season long = 45 yards. (46 vs LSU)

You were 1/4 on the season over 40yds, yet you decided to kick FIVE 40+yd FGs with TWO over 50!
Guess what... you went 1/5 over 40. What a surprise! What did you expect to happen?

This game.
Foster missed 44, 50, 52.
Shelley missed 49 (blocked).
Shelley made 34.
Foster made 46.

So you also admit LSU has the better rushing attack and run D...since youre quoting stats and all.
